The whole receiver actually resets itself? What is the receiver doing when it resets? Watching movie? Playing music?

when i switched it on, it was on demo mode again, so i have to set it up again,.......A new experience again on my vsx 1122, i tried to listen loud, does it have some safety feature that the volume went down on its own????:-(

Got my vsx-1122-k today, and I'm loving it! Blows away the Onkyko TX-SR806 I had.

Just ordered this from Amazon yesterday. Spent a long time trying to decide between it and other AVRs. Bit the bullet and did it. Now to find some speakers to work with it.

I'm setting up my new VSX-1122 and am having trouble getting the iControlAV to work. Odd thing is the AVNavigator app sees the unit just fine
and the iControlAV app will list it's IP and MAC address but returns an AVR: Error B57113 code. Not sure how it can retrieve its IP and MAC
address and not "see" it to control it.

Any ideas? I tried deleting and reinstalling the app but no go.

Try rebooting the device that has the app loaded on it. Turn it off, wait a minute, turn back on.

and reboot your router while you're at it, if still not hooking up. I noticed it sometimes loses connection to the receiver and rebooting the iphone usually fixes it. I had the same problem getting the app to initially hook up to my SC-68.

Same here. The app worked flawless on my I Pad last night. This morning wouldn't connect. Rebooted I Pad and worked just fine. Yes I agree sometime you have to reboot wireless router also.

Thanks, tried all that but still no go. Still hard to figure how one app will find it and the other won't.

Did you try to turn everything off. AVR, wireless router, modem, the device with the app on it. Wait 5 minutes. Then turn on modem, wireless router. Wait for them to completely boot up. Then turn AVR on, then device with the app.

Also do you have the latest app. I control av 2012.

Bingo, just needed to use the 2012 app. Thanks a bunch for all your help.
Now on to figure out how to make favorites.

Your welcome. Also they have an Ipad and iphone app. They are optimized for each device.

Curious if it's possible to setup favorites and Pandora without the onscreen display? I have an older Panasonic plasma that doesn't have an HDMI input.
I went to Pioneer's radio setup site and entered some favorites but I don't see them listed on the receiver which I assumed they might?
I tried using the receivers display to set some up but it doesn't seem possible.

Any help appreciated!

Dont know much about pandora and haven't tried it yet. I thought I read some where. That you could set favorites and control pandora or internet radio stations from the IPad app. Did you check the manual?.

I was trying to set up Pandora also, but couldn't despite following the online help in these forums. I thought it must be because I'm in Australia (even though Pandora has been available here again for some months). So I contacted support.
Today I got this reply..

Unfortunately, the PANDORA App can not be used from the AV Receiver VSX1122, however, the PANDORA App can be used from a external peripheral such as a iPhone / Ipod or iPad to a router then to the AV Receiver VSX1122. The iPhone / Ipod or iPad AirPlay feature can be utilised. Should you have any further questions, please contact the Pioneer help desk on Ph:1800 988 268.

I will no doubt just use the connected AppleTv, but I am a bit bummed it ties up my iOs device, and it was a feature I thought was available after seeing this

Anyway...

I'm looking to replace my VSX37tx(dsp pc static) with one to accomodate my new hi def tv and could care less about all the apps and such. Is this thing going to be a pain from git go to just connect a blu-ray, calibrate the sound field and listen? I could not tolerate a lesser reciever with spring clip speaker terminals just to dodge all the computer crap

I did check the manual a number of times...maybe just not getting it. When I try to setup Pandora from the iPad app it says "App doesn't support this operation". I don't see any of the favorite Internet radio stations I setup on the Pioneer site listed on the app either.

Keep plugging away at it I guess.

Do you have the latest firmware version. Goto the home menu then software update then check version.

I am proud to announce that I finally replaced my 1978 Pioneer receiver with the VSX-1122k. Imagine my joy (and learning curve) in setting it up. I followed directions in the on-line manual but the TV is getting no signal. I hooked the AT&T U-verse box and Blu Ray player both with HDMI to the correct inputs, and have HDMI from the output direct to my Panasonic HD TV (TC-55LE54). I read that I may have to add optical cable for audio but thought I would check to make sure video was ok, but no signal on TV. I tried 3 different HDMI inputs on the tv and scrolled through them but no luck. All connection points checked and double checked. Any ideas?

And since I just took a time machine 34 years into the future, any other advice is appreciated. I have the speakers all hooked up, a pair of older JBL Towers as the main speakers and a Polk Audio 5.1 setup added to the mix. Thank you for any help and advice.

Can you send a link to that firmware upgrade please?

BTW on my unit, to do the upgrade I need to go
Home Menu -> 4 System Setup -> 4f Other setup -> 4 f 4 Update -> 4 f 4b via USB.

I have a VSX-1122 that I just got for Christmas I love it. I have it hooked up to a HD projector for my movie theater. I have one issue that I can’t resolve. I have my kids Wii plugged up to it (component cables). They play Skylanders Giants on it all the time. There are points in the game where it goes into movie mode (soul gems). The video signal will drop for 1-2 seconds then it will readjust and play the rest of the movie mode then do the same thing at the end when it goes back to game play. I’m guessing it has to do with the up conversion readjusting but I changed the setting from auto to 720p and that didn’t help. I went through all of the settings I could come up with on icontrol2012 app and nothing helped. Does anyone have any suggestions? It works great for my Sat., Bluray, PC that are all plugged up via HDMI. The Wii is the only thing that does it. I can’t think of another game that I own that would switch movie modes like this does. It's like the HDMI just doesnt send a signal for .5 seconds so my projector displays no signal found then it takes a few seconds to readjust. Anyone got any ideas?

Just tried the latest update downloaded from the link above and it started its update but I got an, "Error update 6".

Any idea what that might be? I did try as the manual suggests to turn off the receiver and try again but always the same error.

Any suggestions for improving stereo sound with this receiver? Surround sound is fine in most modes and blu ray sounds fantastic. But the Stereo sound is very anemic in the bass region. I'm not a basshead in any way shape or form btw. I've gone through all the calibration settings in detail and everything is how it should be. There has been a huge step up in the surround sound effectiveness vs my old receiver. But my old receiver, a VSX-D411, had the loudness feature which I used in stereo mode and very much enjoyed plus now miss.

So far the best I can do is Pure Direct which brings back some bass and has the best sound but it's not nearly enough. There is Finger EQ but that's a real half-a** solution because you need to manually turn it on and adjust it every single time you use it, the load/save feature is completely worthless and doesn't stick to just the stereo mode. Finger EQ is a non-starter as far as I can see. I could manually alter the mcacc speaker EQ for L and R but I have a feeling that will really mess us the surround calibration?? I have another week before I would have to return it and am very open to any suggestions for how to improve the bass in Stereo mode but not completely alter the sound in other settings..Thanks very much for any help!

Yes, I had a few problems when doing the upgrade, and I think Error 6 was one of them.
Try putting the files (files only, not the folder) on a small USB stick, I ended up using a 1GB drive, but I have read that 8Gb or less should be ok.
