Hi guys,
just wanted to let you guys know that I resolved the issue of airplay not working for my VSX-1122-K.
I use a Netgear WNDR3700V2 router (a very common router), the Pioneer is connected to one of the gigabit ports.
Symptoms:
- Airplay works after first install and after a router reboot.
- After some time the airplay icon would dissapear from my Apple devices.
I have a lot of experience with networks and router configuration but I could not figure it out why it did not work after a certain period.
It was gutted, because everything worked fine for the Pioneer, my Samsung LED TV and Apple devices streaming from my Synology NAS.
My synology audio player (web) and Synology apps (on the Apple devices) were all able to use the VSX-1122-K.
But this was because they all used DLNA and not Airplay
.
So I searched google to see if someone else had a solution, but nothing seemed to work or the proposed solutions were completely useless (someone suggested portforwarding or port triggering but that does not work on a LAN (only WAN)
).
After reviewing my setup and my findings, I concluded that it had to be the Netgear router. The only thing I could think of was to install a previous version of the firmware.
I was using the latest firmware, 1.0.0.36, but reverted to firmware version 1.0.0.12.
Airplay is now available and works perfectly!
