Any info on Panny AE7000 replacement?

I'm approaching the point where I'll need to decide on either buying another (4th) lamp for my AE2000 or replace it with an AE7000 or, perhaps, AE8000. I'm interested in using 3D as a novelty, but haven't fully bought into the technology. I'm a novice, but understand that the 3D is evolving from IR based to RF based (which sounds like a good thing). Should I wait to see if the AE8000 (maybe this fall but maybe 2013) incorporates RF transmission? It looks like that is a very likely possibility. I would hate to be stuck with old tech IR glasses if "new and improved" is right around the corner. Thanks.

Panasonic usually goes every 2 years on model upgrades so if they follow their own history than the 7000 should be their flagship projector through 2013 before a replacement is announced.

While I understand that it took them two years to release the AE7000, I believe that the AE1000, AE2000, AE3000 and AE4000 were all released between 2006 and 2009, about 1 per year. Maybe someone else has more specific history, but I'm fairly certain that was the general timeframe. I bought an AE900 in 2006, and the AE1000 hadn't been released at that point.

Well there doesn't appear to be much information regarding my original question. That said, I would appreciate any ideas on where my question might be better addressed.
