I only consider comparing speakers in the same house on the same day to be truly valid when it is more specific than that - IOW, comparing them in the same room virtually instantaneously, among other factors. IMO, if they're not in the same room at the same time, then they'd just as well be in another state on a different day.
BTW, you previously stated in this thread that "only a handful of speakers in the world have NRC measurements", and interestingly enough, the Verita you mentioned is in that "handful"
, along with models from at least one more ID speaker brand in Ascend (I'm not counting NHT as they may have still had a B&M model at the time the measurements were taken).
Your point? My statement is still correct concerning NRC measurements.
I can only guess most companies don't want to pay to have their measurements taken when they can provice their own quasi-anechoic ones and/or let magazines do the measuring for them. Or, even better, they let the performance of their products speak for itself.
Yes, I did clarify, as I could only assume what you meant. I've heard Selah's stuff and didn't care for it. I was never open about it until after Rick started treating myself, others and certain competing companies poorly, as in trashing them (us). In general if I don't like a speaker I'll briefly state so and then move on, or sometimes I won't say anything at all if I have met the designer, mainly out of respect for the individual who designed it. However, if he starts trashing me for no reason, or perhaps competitors simply out of spite, well, I have no issues telling it like it is. You obviously have an issue with that, but it's a free country and it's my right to do so, just as it is your right to disagree. But if my opinion was so off target...well, lets just say the product performance of those companies would prove me wrong. In this case, I think it is apparent who makes a better speaker; let the record speak for itself. As always, though, YMMV and to each their own. I am just one guy, and my opinion may differ entirely than yours or anyone else's. You should know that and quit getting your feathers ruffled when someone disagrees with you.
By the way, I've been down this road and it isn't worth debating. The performance speaks for itself. To each their own and happy listening.Edited by Nuance - 7/11/12 at 11:06am
