I may be upgrading to a new TV soon, and after a lot of research I've narrowed it down to these two TV's. I'm looking for any insight the AVS community might have on the decision before I pull the trigger on the purchase.
My thoughts on the two sets:
The Sony has the backlight LED set up rather than edge-lit, which I'm definitely a fan of.
Reviewers had mostly nice things to say about this TV
Price is a little higher, so I'd be stuck with a smaller screen
The Samsung has a lot of great features including a super thin design
I don't particularly care about gesture controls / voice commands
I've seen a lot of negative customer reviews on sites like Amazon due to technical issues (firmware problems, and screen problems)
The price is a little better - might be able to go with a bigger screen
I currently own a Samsung LCD, and I've been happy with it.
I'm open to other suggestions if anyone knows of a third option I haven't considered. The only caveat I'd put to that is that I don't want to go with Plasma - I know IR and burn in aren't the epic problems they used to be, but I don't like the idea of IR, even if it only lasts a few minutes.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations, info, or suggestions you all have.
