No I was only wondering about the modulation if your woofers where to move to much was all. But with 12 of them I guess you wont be pushing any of them very hard anyways. With my little setups I usually Hpass the woofers to gain higher spl but lose extension. But in doing that I never have to worry about modulation or Darth Vader voices from the speakers. That being said looks great in a simulation but when listening I never push the 15's hard enough to hear the modulation.

Dual 21's would be crazy for me. Plus the baffle height would be about 48" height before any other sections. (SEOS 24" lol). With dual 18's I would be about 40" tall for the cabinet. Dual 15 is about 33".

I only bought two 15's for now. I wanted to try them out before settling on what I wanted. It cost me 300 roughly so I had to try them. And now I know. I was going to buy the 18's a while ago but got a deal on the TPL's so I had to buy them first. I have wanted to try so many different designs that it was just a matter of me trying some of them and going from there. Simulations are one thing and listening is another. If shipping wasnt so awful I would have bought the Klipsch 942 quad 15 cabinets. But they told me shipping was going to be more than the actual speaker cost. I would have been happy with those without subs for a while. Anyways....

Its hard not to want to build a ported cabinet for the dual 18's verse the sealed cabinet. Simulation wise they would be just enough bass for me. LOL

Scott what other 15's out there have you tried before wanting only the 2226's?

I say this because I finally played some music loud enough to see the 15's starting to make a weird noise. Distortion sound like your clearing your throat. I noticed on certain music from Jay-Z. I had to have the volume pushed a bit but not extreme levels. A Hpass might solve this but who knows for now. They only cost 300 so I could just get more and not push the 15's as hard. Just a bit worried if I get the 18's and the same sound is there. I would not push 18's as hard but who knows. I like knowing that I can push things extremely hard and not worry about the speaker.

I have simulated about 25 different 15's and 18's and its always hard to decide between budget and wants. Wifey says just get what you want and take your time saving to get there. Ya that sounds great but I want it now!!!! lol

When these 15's are not pushed that hard they sound great but so does a $5 set of headphones. SO after simulating drivers from $800-2500 for four 18 and one 15 simulations can only tell you so much. Of coarse I love the simulated response of the 2500 setup. I cant even push that setup hard enough with one amp.

Scott did Ricci get his AE18H's yet? Curious what he will think of them.

I am not going to go with anything from AE because of reasons I have on waiting periods but I know they are amazing speakers. The 2500 category is the AE TD18H and the BC 18SW115. The BC is my favorite.But will obviously take a long time to save for.Everything to me cost about 150-220 for shipping. SO while something looks good add the shipping in and it becomes " is it worth it or shall we save some more." Most of the time its is worth just saving up the rest but the clones are a lot cheaper than anything I can get. 800 for four 18's is cheap for me and 2500 is not. Performance wise it come down to size of cabinet. While I worry about the clone 18 I could get twelve of them for the price of four BC18SW115's. But that is 30cuft of cabinet space. Tuned to 35hz.. Huge for me, Maybe not for you Scott....

Sealed the cloned 18's could be put into 1.5cuft space each but that does not out perform the SW115's. Best simulation looked like the 18sound 15LW1401 tuned to 42hz. for the money.(1400) So is it worth the extra money to get the higher end products. The AE is on average 3db hotter from 80hz and up. From 30hz to 80 the AE is about 8db better. The SW115 is about 8db or more from 30hz to 80. And from 80hz and up it is about 4.5db average better than the 15's. But it should be better considering their 18s verse 15s.

Budget talking the 15s are about the same price as a pair of 18's. From 60hz and down the pair of 18's smash the four 15's. But from 60hz and up the 15s are better. From 100-200hz the 15's are on average 3db hotter. So Scott how did you decide on your 15 instead of another more powerful option?

All these simulations are at extreme levels also so I am sure they would all be fine spl wise. But I do like extreme. And space is limited. Yes I know I will have my subs for 60hz and down. Just trying to get the biggest monster drivers I can for the money in my limited space.

SO the above post got narrowed down to a pair of the BC SW115's vs four 18 Sounds 15's.(15LW1401)

And the 21's are to big. for my space. I will limit the cabinet width to 20" wide.

There is a dealer here who sells Beyma and 18 Sounds products. I seem to always like the stuff I cant afford.

I will wait to hear back from them on a price. They amazingly were able to get me the Beyma TPL-150 for cheaper than I could from the states. The AE TD18H would cost me about 700 roughly each to get it to my door. The 18 Sound 1401 15" cost about 340 dollars each and perform quite well. But if I am going to be spending more money I am going to see what the ultimate will cost me and then go from there. BC SW115 would cost me too much with shipping but the 18 Sound equivalent may not. So I will wait to hear back from the dealer.
