I own a popcorn hour and it's performance over wi-fi is abysmal. Would appreciate any help.
For high bitrate HD video any streamer will be terrible over wifi. It's not the streamer, it's the wifi.
If you simply can not do wired then you have 3 other options:
1) 500mb powerline ethernet- if the house/apartment has good electrical wiring you'll get speeds comparable to wired 100mb ethernet, plenty fast. This is what I personally use with my Dune and everything streams flawlessly.
2) MOCA (coax ethernet basically) which will also be "fast enough" with decent wiring
3) Wait.. 802.11AC devices will be coming out soon and should finally be fast enough to let you stream this content over wifi.
