Please recommend a high quality DVI to component convertor for night club

I am currently remodeling a night club with an existing 16x16 component HD matrix video switch. The displays that are connected are older 720p Panasonic plasma’s. I will be keeping the current switch and displays in place but need to upgrade the house (music video) computer, please recommend a convertor in the $1,000 range or less.

Thank you so much for your input & time.

Following is a Bing search for DVI to Component transcoder.
Do you need to handle 16 different DVI sources to 16 possibly different displays with your 16x16 switch?
Or do you have one DVI source that you want to send to 16 displays which you can do with your current switch and one transcoder?

The current switch is a high end sigma component switch $8,000 and is currently in service with Directv and a standalone DVD. The switch will do 720p no problem and looks fantastic with directv, so basically I need a VGA to component or would prefer a DVI to component for the best quality.

Thanks Much

I would like to setup a house video pc loaded with music videos and pump them out to the switch via component with no or little degradation. As for audio I will do an external PS Audio DA convertor to the house audio mixer.

What do you think about the idea of using a video card that does component out? That certainly would be the least expensive option by miles.

I not as much concerned with saving money as I am for getting high quality output over the switch.

tnx

I have not seen any reports of quality problems with eitner standard switches or splitters. The quality could be different if the switch or splitter also performs scaling and/or deinterlacing.

The current switch looks pristine running DirecTV, my main concern is going to be the graphics card VGA output and the conversion from VGA to component

Thanks Much

There are a very large number of video cards that do tv-out with component, they would be older and dirt cheap. The video cards that look like they have an S Video port on the back is what you want (its not an s-video, its a 7pin multi port that supports svideo/composite/comoponent), then get a 7pin component cable if it doesnt come with the card.
