Antenna Choice For Channel 38

My only choice for NBC (WEAU) just switched from channel 13 (which came in great with a dedicated Wade from 70 miles) to channel 38. I have an old CM4228 which I love but I'm having to many drop outs with it. What antenna will work the best for channel 38?

Btw this can be a directional dedicated antenna for 38. If this works fine I will add a tin lee combiner since joitennas are gone.

Post a TVFool report and we might actually be able to help you.

The 91XG is about as good as you're going to get on UHF 38 unless you can come up with an old ChannelMaster parabolic. You might want to gang two of the 91XGs.

The original Channel Master antennas are now very hard to find, including the 4248 and 4257 UHF Diamand Quantum yagis. Those are similar to the 91XG type of design and very good performers. PCT now owns the CM name and outsources Chinese made imitations. Also the original CM7777 preamp as been discontinued. But PCT does make very good distribution amplifiers under the CM name. As for now, the 91XG or the Fracarro 920 may be the best UHF antennas available, and you could also look at Winegard 9095 or 9032.

You may only need one 91-XG. I have personally found it to be superior to the original 4228 in metropolitan, suburban & fringe environments.
