No. They are simply referring to a new implementation of the dynamic iris being used. They must have tweaked the algorithms to make it smoother and less noticeable.

In the meanwhile they have correct their original statement. HW50ES didn't have 4K or pseudo 4K.

IFA starts in 1 day, on Friday the 31st! What's up with JVC? Have they revealed their new line? Anyone out of NDA now and can say?

The JVC new models are already known (X35, X55, X75 and X95), I'm still waiting for the 31/08 to be able to speak about the 7 new EPSON projectors.

The new JVC models will be presented at CEDIA and not at IFA (even for the journalist), the new EPSON models will be presented tomorrow at 10AM I will cover it wink.gif

This is not projection but here are the pics of the LG Booth with the 4K flat 3D passive screen and the new oled screen (very impressive)

Ah, got it! Well, thanks for the updates, Kraine. We all really appreciate it!
Kraine. Thanks.

SO LET'S REMEMBER GUYS. NO JVC UNTIL CEDIA WHICH STARTS 1 WEEK FROM TODAY. So quit asking please.

Now. Are there any details on the new Sony Z2 3D headset? Thanks

Kind strange that you of all people should ask since there is already a thread on it here at AVS smile.gif

What about Optoma, especially the follow-on to the HD33.
For DLP please ask the sales rep's if they use DC2 or DC3.

The pumping-up of dynamic contrast hides the fact that there is meager innovation in projectors this year.
To meet the LED light powered challenge, projector manufactures are simply pumping-up the claimed UHP bulb life!

Panasonic is correcting the insidious temperature issues, and Mitsubishi is the exception with two interesting models.

At least if you want 4K, then LCD panels are taking the spotlight.

Everyone can see the lost focus at Texas Instruments with regards to DLP technology:

Now this is real madness!

Will be interesting to see where TI goes with 4K... will they bring it to the consumer space or leave it in the theaters? Do they even have the capability to meet black-level expectations of the early adopter 4K crowd? I'll wait out the early adopter 4K, as I remember purchasing a 1080i CRT HDTV around Y2K and waiting a few years for regular content... not interested in gaming, so 1080p will work just fine for me until this all shakes out.

The only Brand that sell passive projector is LG and they dont' have any newprojector at IFA 2012, BenQ isn't at Berlin.
