Optoma ZW210ST: 720p, 2000 Lumens, 100000:1 contrast

I've been searching the forums but see very little on this projector.

Stats are here: http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-ZW210ST.htm

It sounds good as long as you're not looking for 1080p or 3D... 2000 lumens, 1000000:1 contrast, decently quiet.

I'm currently using an Infocus X9 with a bulb that is probably half its original brightness. This Optoma seems like a very good upgrade in terms of contrast, as long as I'm okay with 720p for a while. I'm curious what others think of this PJ? Is there anything wrong with using it as a home theater display?

Wait... It doesn't have a zoom lens?! Sigh. Nevermind. frown.gif New question: are there aftermarket zoom converters? wink.gif

As you've discovered this projector has some shortcomings. For the money you're planning on spending there are many better alternatives.

Have a look through coderguy's listing of projector options to get an idea of what is out there for the money spent.
