Network hard drive question

Thread Starter
Im thinking of buying a Western Digital 3TB Network Hard Drive to store all my music, video and pictures on on my home network to be accessed by anyone on the network.

What i would like to do is make the permissions so only i can modify the contents and let everyone read

Maybe with Mac address control or something? Like my RXV-671

Can i do this?

Sorry if this is in the wrong area as i dont really know a lot about this particular subject yet!

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Yes you can! I believe WD comes with their own software where you can do this. Or you can do it with the Network Share Permission via PC or Mac. This is something I need to do as well with my UnRaid software since my kids started to get comfortable with using the Dune and PCH now. I don't want them to delete movies by mistake biggrin.gif

Once you start ripping bluray movies, you will need lots of space. I'm waiting for the 3tb drive prices to come down a little more to buy one wink.gif.
