Sharp Aquos BD-HP20 firmware

My friend's old Sharp Aquos BluRay BD-HP20 won't play new stuff anymore. I determined it needed a firmware update. I couldn't find the model in the dropdown at the sharp site. When I did a searh on Model-Not Listed on the BD-HP20 It came up with a BD-HP20U firmware update and instructions.

Since this is the first time I've ever done an upgrade, and its not MY unit, I am a little concerned that the model number is not the same as the unit.

Has anybody run this, I did some internet searching and people were saying this isn't correct.

I just contacted Sharp, but who knows how long this is going to take.

Just as a follow up. Sharp never got back to me, And even though there are posts all over the internet saying the BD-HP40 will not recognize the BD-HP40U upgrade. I tried the BD-HP40U on my USA BD-HP40 and it worked just fine. My guess is the U stands for USA, but I held my breath during the process.
