Basically, no frame skips every 40-some-seconds with 23.976 film-based BD's (which is most of them), both 2D and 3D. This issue was never a big issue in my case (I believe your display has a lot to do with it). But, there are reports that Mede8er has indeed fixed this issue for good and it'll come out in a future firmware update, likely very soon.

has i told you guys before in micca topic , i had no issues with that player because:

1- i had my library in external/ internal hard drive, so no streaming issues
2- the micca indeed was doing 23,97hz in 2D like my projector showed.
3- i never had issues with the frames 23,99 in 3D

it still is a rock solid player to play internal , external hard drives , i sold it because my library is over network now.
the buddy i sold it loves it.

I'm thinking about trying one of these out. Debating waiting for the MED600X3D since I have no use for the attached hard drive, but I might not want to wait until next year.

One question I have, is there any ability to create some type of profile system? One thing I love about XBMC is the ability to create a main profile for me, and then a separate profile for my daughter that only displays her media when hers is the active profile. I'm not so much concerned about the "parental controls" of it (which is nice) but more for the ability for her to filter only her movies and not have to scroll through mine as well. If it helps, I do have our media in separate folders on the server.

Also, is anyone running one of these off of an unRAID server?

I don't own one yet (it's being delivered today) but from what I've read you could setup separate shares if you're using some type of jukebox and then add the shares as favorites. That way she would have a favorites for content and you would have one for yours. Can't test this out though until I get mine

I have a question of my own though. Does anyone know if this will show the bitrate information of the current file being played? My old popcorn hour would show me the video and audio bitrate on screen by pressing the info button. I found it useful when diagnosing network issues or wanting to see generally how taxing a video might be on my network.

you can use Y2M for windows

heres a guide http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_y2m_user_guide_V2.05a.html

for mac you can use dunex + dunextomed8er

I had both micca and x3 side-by-syde

x3 take advantage in :

jukebox
nfs
samba
upnp
box with good ventilation
forum support (almost every week theres a new firmware check the mede8er forum and see for yourself)
remote
sartup
better firmware implementation
built

theres a beta version on tests where the 23,976 is fixed in 2D and 3D, will be implemented in a new firmware on the following weeks, but still playing at 23,99 is very smooth with no issues.
in my opinion currently its the best media player for 2d and 3D

Question for everyone. I am thinking about getting this for the WAF. I have XBMC elsewhere, so have the folder structure, naming convention, set up for that. Can YAMJ utilize the XBMC naming convention? If not, what are my options?

At the current avaiable firmware to everyone 2D is 23,99 and 3D is 23,99 ....acording to the info in my projector

the beta version we are testing working at 23,97 for 2D and 3D

the only problem is a limitation to synology users, the synology NASes are limited to 8K over NFS and SAMBA in x3 top at 94mbps, wheres micca NFS and samba are a disaster.

Guys is this better than popcorn a-400 in terms of picture quality-movement and stability? I am interested playing bluray iso 3d from usb hard drive, no network. Which should i choose? Med1000 or A-400?

I have to say, I've struggled to understand how YAMJ works - I do use MyMovies which apparently supports meta-data output for YAMJ, butI can't figure out the steps to get this data into a format/place that a YAMJ client can use. I tried the GUI YAMJ client, and when I point to the folder containing the movies and try to "generate" whatever YAMJ needs to generate, nothing seems to happen.

no, i have all my iso. 3D library in external hard drive 3TB and works fine, iso, mkv, all lossless. 45gb each movie, you made the same question in A400 but med1000x3d its a much better and stable player.

Nope no issues at all from the USB HDD's.
3D and 2D iso's play flawlessly.
This is a great player. The support they offer on their forums is fabulous too.

Probably the best player in recent times.

Hi,

I have a Micca 950 that I found almost perfect. It play everything whitout bugs/ dropout.

The only problem (for me) is there no network Jukebox on Micca 950.

In a quest for a better jukebox I buy the new Popcorn hour A-400. To make a short story, that player is a shame... Not one file play without dropout or some kinds of bugs.

So know I am looking for something else. I heard that the med1000x3 could me my answer.

Like I say, the only thing I want is a solid player like the Micca 950 but with a more descent Jukebox. Is the Med1000x3 could be the solution for me?

Is the med600x3 already available to purchase in US?

Also, regarding to performance the med600x3 is the same as the med1000x3 ?

I only use network share and hdmi 1.4 connection.

the performance should be the same, because its same amount memory and chipset 1186.

i think is avaibale in us in january 2013 mediaconcept.com is the usa dealer to mede8er.

Performance of the MED600X3D and MED1000X3D are the same and in fact they share the same firmware. I will check with our reseller about availability in USA as it was only planned for Q1 2013.

UPDATE
Just checked with http://www.mediaconceptusa.com/mede8er.html and they will arrange to get a shipmt into USA by Mid Dec.
