Absolutely excellent news. Really, very nice to hear for the MED1000X3D. I can cross that off my list of concerns. Thank you!

Yes I would like to know the answer to this as well. I know that my wife and I bought an international adapter when we traveled over seas, so maybe that will work, but I do recall purchasing the cheapest adapter at that time.

The Iconbit I tried last year came with the previous type of plug, and yeah, they're kind of a pain. They work, but they stick way out of the wall or power strip due to the adapter plug that you have to use, and the weight of the main plug pulls downward and sort of lifts the plug out a bit from the outlet. It looks like it could even fall out due to the weight of it and how far it hangs out. I hated it personally. I'm very happy to see this new adapter being included - it's a much better design.

We have just completed some work with My Movies and shortly the My Movies Apps will support Mede8er X2 and X3 requirements as far as images and xml files.
I expect this should all happen with a week or so - once all testing is completed.

Thats great news... smile.gif

I love there IPad app, very convenient to browse my movies database.

Just keep in mind that I don't believe currently you will be able to control/initiate playback on the Mede8er with the MyMovies App like you can on a Dune or HTPC, you are just simply using My Movies to create the necessary artwork/xml data.

One thing I have noticed with My Movies, when it creates the about.jpg file about half the time it is incomplete, almost like My Movies created the file before it had finished downloading all the appropriate metadata for the movie

Im testing the MyMovie app for Iphone And mac osx, and theres a play option in both of them, theres dune or wms configuration, where we add ip address And player name, this app has everything it require to play, it just need to update for mede8er on port 1024.

Im sure will be add it.

The longer term intention re integration with My Movies is to be able to play a Movie from the iPad. So the way I see it is it will be a dual stage development where firstly the images and xml are supported and the next phase will be the launching of media.

That's awesome. If My Movies or Yadis is fully implemented, which would include TV Show support, I will be incline to sell my Dune D1 and PCH-A210 to buy two or more Mede8er's since I am getting tired of maintaining two different jukeboxes.
I think that yadis doesn't support TV series for mede8er (and Fred is working on a huge 3.0 release and I don't think he will have time to implement it), same about the MM app for which we're still waiting for a long promised TV support (I don't know if the current mede8er plugin in collection management support it already...).

Hopefully, this will change in the near future.

I hope too...The MM app is really great but the lack of Tv support is a major problem.

Hi

Do you have to copy and install all the firmware revisions released by mede8er ? or do you just DL and install the latest one only ? does the latest contain all the previsous fixes ?

lastly is there a How to format a 3TB HD in a Medx1000 guide ? any advice is welcome.

cheers

I find a note in the box from Media Concept that tell me the player has been update to latest firmware before shipping.

Nice touch smile.gif

What's the fascination with ipad of phone control for these devices? A solid remote is a much better tool for controlling A/V than a tablet of phone will ever be.

+1. Is isn't a bad add-on value, but to me, a better jukebox for TV shows would be much higher on the list of to-do's. But, if several things could be worked on in parallel w/o sacrificing the core needs, then why not I guess.

+2. I also find the ipad illumination to be horribly distracting when trying to use it as a remote. I usually stick with my trusty URC's...

Not really. Try RoomieRemote for the ipad.

Yes, occasionally you wish there were a few hard buttons, but the overall benefit of a customizable touch screen that truly works well is great. And you can easily switch to mymovies, TiVo, directv, and other dedicated apps for much greater control and searchability...

I prefer remotes, but like having the options. With my 2 sons I can just hand them the tablet and let them choose what they want to watch.

ugh, guess it is all personal preference but no way i would ever have a touchscreen as a main remote in my home theater. The backlighting alone is contrast killing enough, but i do get the fascination with them for use in non dedicated theater rooms..

1001 things to do with ipad..

add MM jukebox- check
getting fat and lasy - check smile.gif

Sorry to bring this up again but can we get some clarification or are people still checking? How does this player handle 25fps and 50fps files on a US 60Hz set? I've heard comments ranging from unwatchable to no problems. This is rather important to me because I don't want to find out after I purchase the unit that it doesn't handle these files well. As I previously mentioned, my Micca seems to play them fine so I don't know why there should be a problem, but I've heard at least one comment that says they are unable to play correctly on a US set.

i wasnt aware that is possible to listen music on mede8er players x2 and x3 without the tv on...

Quote:
The X2 and X3 comes with a DLNA DMR function. That stands for Digital Living Network Alliance Digital Media Renderer. That means another DLNA device can use the Med500x2 to process media without you having to do anything else with the Med500x2 other than turning it on. Music can be played without having to turn on the TV, or you can display photo's on your TV directly from your phone.

A Device which controls this process is called a DLNA DMC - Digital Media Controller. You can get DMC apps for many devices - Android phones/tabs - Iphone/Ipad.

Android Honeycomb dosn't come with a DMC installed. Android Market has a lot of them, but not all are able to detect both the X2's DMR, and the X2's Upnp server successfully. One that does is Bubbleupnp.

.... or try iRule on an iPad or Android tablet for that matter.  I switched to universal touch screen remotes years ago and quickly adjusted not to have hard buttons. Touch screen remotes are much more versatile.

I thought the mede8er1 stated he was checking on this.

Last night I install my med1000x3... So far so good, the x3 play everything I try whitout any bugs smile.gif

I would have to do a lot more test in the coming days but look good to me.

I will report back here when more testing will have been done...

ps : Not major, but will be good if the battery for the remote could be include in the box. It take me more time to find spare battery then config the x3 biggrin.gif

Just out of curiosity, what type of files would be 25fps or 50fps? I just did a random check of several of my movie files, and they were all 23.98 (at least that's what Daum Potplayer says).

I have episodes of the TV Show Merlin which are 25fps

love the black model.

All european devices come with batteries, dont no about usa, looking for some reviews at amazon.com its common the complains about batteries in others electronic gear.
People still use non-rechargeable batteries?
Already have a silver 1000X3D, but I'm considering eBay-ing it and getting a 600X3D instead. It's black and small. Looks better in my home theater smile.gif, plus don't need internal HDD.
