I do have to say overall I am very satisfied with this player. It just needs a few tweaks to get to the top IMO!

Regarding the TV Shows option, this is the area that is sorely lacking. You either need to put each individual episode in its own folder (absolutely horrible idea) or there is the basic TV Show view mode (not part of the jukebox). You can see this in my review:

Go to longest playlist which is typically the main movie. You can choose other playlists/titles in the bdlite menu but it will just say Title 1, Title 2, etc... which means you will need to guess

How would the Movie Jukebox be able to make that determination? Supposedly MyMovies has metadata scraping support for Mede8er with their current prerelease which requires use of the jukebox. How would you launch the correct file then.

Running the V2 beta now. Installation went without a hitch. Having fun testing files now.

I managed to get the unit placed in an area that receives the remote signal well. It definitely doesn't have the wide range of coverage that some of my hardware does. I can point my tv remote literally behind me towards the back wall and it still receives the signal. But I know all remotes are different, and at least I've got it working now that it's in a better location for it.

Now that the beta V2 is installed, I immediately noticed something very interesting regarding the off-center issue I was having. I'm not sure if I can post about it here though since I'm supposed to keep quiet about the V2 beta results. If I'm told it's okay to post here about what happened with the off-center issue, I'll do so - if not, I'll just post it in the V2 feedback thread over at the Mede8er site.

So far I feel very positive about V2.

Not sure which exact one, but I have a bunch of options set in my movies meta data options like XML, nmj, nfo, med8er, my movies XML. One of them does the trick.

i dont no how mymovies app works in dune players

i check the mymovies app for iphone and theres a full remote appication, i guess they will add a playlist option to choose different title.

if the special feature you are refering its the movie extras, since there no java licensed on this players for correct menus , the built in players works by playing the largest files by definition...i think.

if you really care about movie extras, you can use makemkv to extract the correct movie with extras, and you can rename them and put all together in different movie section.
you should try the mymvovies app is very complete with thousands of information per movie, actors profiles , movies clips etc.

For the most part yes, I believe the logic is simply to start playing the longest playlist. If you happen to have 2 main movie playlists (i.e. regular and uncut version with different timestamps, my guess the version with the longest timestamp will play)

Makes sense. Not the most optimal setup but considering I usually watch the main feature 99% of the time in my dedicated room I'm not going to worry about it. I guess my only other concern would 3D blurays with both 2D and 3D selections on the same disc.

I'm seeing occasional stutters on 2D BDISO files which appear to happen randomly with DTS MA, haven't seen it yet with TrueHD...no problems with DTS/DD either. I don't see anyone else talking about this so it must isolated to my setup? My Synology NAS and MED are connected directly to my router and using SMB. Going to try NFS but would be nice to hear if others are seeing this as well.

Nope, Linksys WRT310N. I was wondering if there was any router settings to improve things, the only things I came up with through searching were for wireless setups.

I've never tested this myself and I don't believe all routers have the setting available but can you specify the port speed on your router? If so, I've read that matching the port speed to the device resolves this but don't quote me on it. In this case, 1gb instead of auto on the router for the port the med1000 is connected to.

Random audio drops its difficult to understand whats the cause.


1)Try a direct connection from synology to x3 if you have spare ethernet port
2) use this settings in x3 udp> 32k
3)use NFS
4) rip The iso to mkv with makemkv for testings only.
5) reinstall fw recovery mode press power button until mede8er logo is gone
6) use cat6

Thats would be 1st steps i would do if its my case.

I tried 1, 2, 3, & 5. I didn't have a Cat6 cable to try. Switching to NFS 32k I got my first video stutter a little over an hour in. So I bypassed the router and connected direct and got the stutter at the same exact scene. Thinking it was the file I rewound and it went past the scene without issue, couldn't get it to duplicate.

I think I'm now convinced HD audio isn't worth the hassle. I'd rather miss a few bits of audio that I likely won't know I missed rather than being interrupted with stumbling video.

Lets forget the network for testing, since is giving mix results.

Try with External/Internal Hard drive only
you mention back there, that exist a random audio drop in Dts-HD.

When you rip your iso to mkv you choose main movie Only i supose, and what type of english audio tracks do you choose? All of them?

What version of makemkv you use? Windows or mac?
What movie titles this drops occours.?
Whats your receiver?

Theres is something in here that is causing this since is random, can be the x3, receiver, or file,
1-test different receiver (same mkv file)
2-test different player (same mkv file)

update: i read in other topic you ripping main movie only , not a clone 1:1 , it was not a bad idea test a full iso clone.

I have setup Yadis on my Windows 7 PC.How do i access it on 600X3D as yADIS does not have export for mede8er?

I have Dune Smart D1 and i use export to Dune in yADIS to save it on Synology NAS. Then i create shortcut to yADIS folder in Dune to access Media library.

yaDIS on the Mede8er does not work like it does on the Dune. Right now all yaDIS does on the Mede8er is gather all the metadata/artwork for the Mede8er to scan

Hi everyone.

I proudly unboxed my 600X3D tonight. Set-up was very simple, but clearly I need to run My Movies to generate xml data since the scan won't pick up my library.

But I ran into one issue that I couldn't yet find in this thread. The image flickers - sometimes every 10 seconds or so, sometimes much more frequently. This does not seem to be the stuttering problem that people mention, since the audio stream still seems to be intact. Plus it happens even in the menu screens without a video streaming. I've tried HDMI Audio and setting to 1080p/60, with no luck. 24Hz setting does nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

do you have it connect to tv or amplifier ?
whats the tv model or amplifier ?
try hdmi auto .

also , i advice to try different hdmi input in tv or receiver , looks a hdmi handshake, try to reinstall the firmware to 10.0.5 using the recovery metod with power button.

It's connected directly to the TV via HDMI. TV is a Samsung - I have no problem connecting to a PS3 or WD TV Live. I'll try to reinstall the firmware and try again.

If it is a handshake issue, will that cause total failure or the flickering issue?

try component video out

if all that doest change it might be a faulty unit.

I had same issue on my system.
I found changing inputs on TV seemed to fix it.
So if you have it connected to hdmi 1, and get flicker, change TV for a few seconds to an unused hdmi port on TV then go back to hdmi 1 to re-lock on.

Also the mede8er is outputting deep color.that might be issue also.

Maybe contact them and see if you can turn it off.
