Pirates of the Caribbean Trivia slides are now here

The Pirates of the Caribbean slides for all four movies are finally here!!! The Pirates of the Caribbean series includes a total of 166 slides.

These slides are a part of the HT SlideVision Vol.2 collection. They can be purchased at the following link.

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1424484/ht-slidevision-volume-one-to-be-released-soon

Be sure to read this entire posting since a few things have changed as the project has progressed.

Note that I’m just a Home Theater enthusiast like many of you and not an expert by any means at graphic design or video compilation. That being said I’ve done my best to make everything look and sound as professional as possible. If you do find errors let me know and I will correct them and email you the corrected slide.

In the below postings you will find my entries as I completed each movie’s slide set with a few samples of each set and the exact number and type of slides in that set all totaling 169 slides.

Slides are in JPEG format 1920x1080 as well as in their original paint.net format so anyone can edit them.

Here is just one of the ,MKV files that can be obtained through the HTPC & 100% Playavle DVD versions.

I will include a .TXT file with the links where the free editing software can be downloaded. The applications I used to create these slides are….

Paint.net - for Slide editing & creating
PhotoStory 3 - for compiling the Slides into a video with transitions
AVC - for converting video formats
MKV Merge for combining the 5.1 soundtrack with the video

The collection is sent through the mail on a DVD sorry no download option at this time.

The files on the disc are all in sub folders so you will probably want to re-arrange them on your computer before using them in a Pre-Show

After 3 weeks I have finally finished the Curse of the Black Pearl slides. This includes...

38 Total Slides
3 Quotes
5 Supplemental (Snacks, Food etc)
9(x2) Multiple Choice
6(x2) Q&A

Here are a couple of samples...

Thanks to KDR for reporting an error with one of the At World's end slides. Slide has been fixed and correct slide has been integrated into the video. Anymore error or typos let me know.

On that note I'd like to choose two individuals to send out the Caribbean slides out for free. Those individuals would need to agree to post a reply in the thread of their thoughts and any typos, corrections or suggestions, good and bad. To qualify you will need to be an AVS member for at least 6 months and preferably own Steven Good's Coke Screenplay slides. Not that these slide are in the same league, but I think the Coke Screenplay slides are the quality all other AVS slides are graded upon.

If interested post a reply in the thread with a small explanation of why you should be selected, and Good Luck.

For those of you who have not seen Steven Good's Coke ScreenPlay Slides here is the link, certainly pick them up, they are the best I have seen in or out of the AVS Forum.

I have begun work on an Alien set of slides that I will include with these at no additional charge. Once those are complete this will be considered Volume 1. I'm thinking of naming the series HT SlideVision Volume 1.

This collection as well as the Alien series slides will be combined in the HT SlideVision Collection Volume One for the same amount and can be purchased at the following new thread...

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1424484/ht-slidevision-volume-one-to-be-released-soon

I expect the Alien series to be complete early next week at which time the volume will be complete.

I may make additional Volumes in the future depending on how these go over. Considering on how much time it takes to make these I will probably charge additional for each volume, though not more than $4.00 per additional volume.

Any suggestions on what movies to have in a volume 2?

Thanks a lot for this. I was wondering when some more slides were coming after Steven's great set. For vol 2 you could go with matrix series or underworld. Whatever you do I'm sure it will be nice. A more daunting one would be star wars, but it that would be awesome. In fact I would be willing to pay more for that one. Keep up the good work.

Those are all great ones to do. I know Steven covered Star Wars, but can you really ever have enough Star Ware slides?tongue.gif

Made a slew of minor corrections in grammar and punctuation mainly. I also mailed out 3 copies to other members for testing and error checking. Hopefully between the four of us we will weed out any additional errors. Here are the corrected slides from the ones posted above...

Enlarged cut off image to top of frame and removed crossbones.

Punctuation change to" Pintel's" name

"Shot" changed to "Short"

Punctuation fixed on Black "Beard's"
