Sub frequency question

I'm a newb, so sorry for what is probably a dumb question. I am considering the HTIB Onkyo 9400thx system and comparing it to piecing speakers together myself, including the BIC F12 sub. This question pertains to the two subs and their respective frequency range.

The Onkyo sub has a frequency range of 20hz -100hz

The BIC sub has a range of 25hz - 200hz

My question is which is more important, a wider range or a range that goes lower. I am guessing it depends on what the sub will be used for, which in my case is home theater, sports games on tv, and music listening. I know that to be THX certified, the sub needs to hit 20hz or lower, which the Onkyo sub does but the BIC sub does not. Thoughts?

It must though, right? Since the Onkyo system is THX certified?

so what sub would you recommend for the following 7.1 system:

Onkyo txnr609 receiver
Pioneer fs-51 fronts
Pioneer c21 center
Pioneer bs-21 sides
Pioneer bs-21 rears

I was thinking of one of the following, but im open to other suggestions:

bic f12
energy s10.3
bic v1020

size of the room is about 20x15 with about 7ft ceilings

a combination of music, movies, and sports games, probably 70% movies and sports and 30% music

i switched my reciever choice to the denon 1912 which is a 7.1 vs the onkyo 609 which is a 7.2. with only one sub out now, i want to make sure i have good bass to fill the room completely. thanks

I have no problem buying new and so far I like the BIC F12 and the Energy s10.3

I am up in the air on this because I like the BIC for the larger woofer size, but I like the higher power of the Energy. Thoughts?

The Energy also has a lower frequency range, but like discussed earlier, idk how much faith I can put in that.

from the searching i have done, the pl200 is quite a bit more than the f12 or s10.3, uless i am searching in the wrong place. i also will get some bass help from my front speakers, which are the pioneer fs-51

I do like that PL-200, but I found a BIC vk12 for about the same price, how does it compare?

so after actually measuring my room, it is about 13x16x8 with 2 small hallways connected to it. will a single rw-12d be enough or should i look at getting 2 subs? i had decided on the denon 1912 for the receiver, but it is only a 7.1, so i would need to reconsider that as well. thanks.
