So who wants to buy my barely used 60" Pioneer Elite Kuro (Pioneer Elite PRO-151FD) and my 65-inch Panasonic Plasma (P65VT30) so that I can put it toward the down payment for this cool 4K LG TV ?

I'm really excited about this unit. I'm hoping I can snag one under 10K. However, being the impatient consumer that I am I may settle for the PRO-70X5FD.

It's very good news that LG is indeed releasing this TV, but it'll be a major bummer if they decide to sell it here in the US at that price point.frown.gif I know that this TV is the first of its kind for the consumer market, but at $22K it's going to be a hard sell here. Even at $15K it'll be pretty steep, but may sell at that price to ones who want the ultimate TV. All we can do now is wait and see what LG US sells it for come November.

Guess everyone has forgotten that when the Pioneer 50" Plasma HDTV first showed up in retail stores in the USA, it had a $25,000 price.

There will be a cheaper one in the 64 inch diag class, Even the big one is not true 4k rather they are consumer 4hd but that looks like what will become the consumer 4 k standard, 4hd or 3840 x 2160.

4K being 4000 x 2000? I sincerely doubt anyone could tell the difference. Like the "HD" that is used in Digital Cinema - it's 2048 x 1080 not 1920 x1080.

The industry is going to have to define this new resolution. Monikers like UltraHD, QuadHD and SuperHD are already in use. It will be confusing to consumers if there isn't a single agreed up moniker . . . like HD.

64" ? For how much? $15,000?

Sony is the way to go 4K...at least they've promised to provide owners with 4K content via a hard drive. smile.gif
