cloth to wrap bass traps and absorption panels

I did basic research from Joann and Hancock. I liked stretch velvet from Joann for the price. I was told that it may sag. If I fix it to 9 feet bass trap stitched around, do you think I still have sagging problem? Any experience with stretch velvet. from anybody?

I also liked micro velvet from Hancock. It is double the expensive. Both micro velvet from Hancock and stretch velvet from Joann seems perform same for darkness and blow test for acoustics.

I have coupon to use by tomorrow. Appreciate any input.

The OP said he did research so I assume he meant hands on and he found some in inventory at his local store.

I found micro velvet at Hancock and bought around 15 yards. Thanks BigMouth for recommending. I really impressed with it. After coupon, it is $14, where as stretch velvet at Joann and Hancock are $7. Also, micro velvet is 48 inches where as stretch velvet is 60 inches wide. I bought 10 yards of stretch velvet each in both stores. Though I liked stretch velvet at Joann Store, they have limited quantities.

As long as I don't cut, I can return them if I don't use. I will try using micro velvet on appearance side. I guess there is more work to stitch micro at the front and stretch in the back. Hopefully, stretch velvet wont' sag over years.

Unfortunately, I have 19 yards of fedilio velvet. Since I was told it is not acoustically transparent, do n't know where to use. Probably just attach to ceiling directly over screen area. Spent too much on cloth.

You could use the fidelio on the bass traps.

Thanks. Fidelio and micro velvet are 48 inch size wide only. Stretch velvet is 60 inch. I guess one has to take this also into account while estimating the cost.

Since my bass traps are 17x17x24 (17+17+24=58), it could be little problem to wrap Fidelio or micro velvet since I need more stichings. Since stretch velvet is 60 inch, it is just one wrapping
