Dropping cable - antenna DVR solution suggestions

Cutting the cord with cable and the only thing I'll miss is the DVR.

Streaming - Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc. - all covered via other devices I already have so the only ability I'm really looking for is DVR for broadcast HD TV.
Desired features:
- ability to record at least two channels simultaneously
- pause live tv

TiVo looks like a great option. Is there another option without the monthly fee or with a lower monthly fee?

Bump.

I too would like to cut the cord and be able to DVR local channels that are in HD OTA. I know the simpl.tv is being released soon, but I believe it is a single tuner, so doesn't that mean if it is recording,mi cannot change the channel.nany other options?
