Hi all. I'm new here and trying to learn while setting up a theater. I did a search and found some good info but I wanted to ask a more specific question(s)
Can I damage 125w speakers with a 250w amp? I assume I can if I get stupid or reckless or suddenly go deaf and crank the volume to the sky. So I'm taking under normal use. I'm also assuming that with 6 Ohm speakers the amp outputs 250w
The speakers are Monitor Audio RX6 & RX Centre and RXFX. Amp Emotiva XPA-5
Also is there a potential problem with the mismatched frequency response? Are there adjustments I can/should make?
I'll be using the Yamaha RX-V1700 preouts for now but plan on moving into a pre/pro in the future (if funds allow).
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
