Need help building a HTPC for my brother

Hi Guys!

It took me forever to figure out how to post something on here tongue.gif

My brother is graduating college and my parents want to get him something nice. I know he's been talking about building a computer for his TV so i decided to start looking online to figure out what to buy him. It looks like the best ones are ones that you build yourself, but OMG there's so many options eek.gif

I know how to find deals for computer parts and I can just have my brother put it together himself, but I have no clue what to get. I told my parents to just give him the money and let him build one but they insist we get everything ready for him. I'm pretty sure that maybe i could get my guy friend Michael to put everything together, he's good with all this computer stuff biggrin.gif

I know that he would want to play games on this computer and watch movies. He probably wants to listen to music too. He has a big tv already (so jealous tongue.gif), I asked him what it was and he said "55 inch LG LED tv"

My parents are willing to spend between $2,000-$2,500 and they want it to look nice. I guess that would be the case thing? I've seen some nice ones just looking around that look kind of like the receiver thing we have in our living room.

Can someone please help me and tell me what kind of parts i should look at?

I would check this guy out-Assassin HTPC. All custom builds and he'll work with you to get you exactly what you need.

Also you might want to check this system out. You won't get the same level of gaming performance as with what I recommended but it should be good for moderate gaming and its in a slick package.
