Need a new multiregion PAL capable player.

My trusty OPPO DV970HD is malfunctioning and I am wondering whether to send it in for repair or replace it. Your suggestions much appreciated.

OPPO has fixed price out of warranty repair, something like $50-60, which includes one way shipping. I'd ask them about that if you've been happy with the player otherwise.

If you want to step up to Blu-ray, their later players still accept PAL DVD and can be made region-free with a third-pary software patch. This is for DVD: region-free for Blu-ray requires a hardware mod.
