What can we expect from 2013 Panasonic Plasmas? - Page 38

More like an hour, two tops.

I wasn't debating how long it takes for image retention to show itself. 10 hours was just a random number that came to mind while trying to help a new forum member with his query.

Did you actually read and understand my post?

As long as you vary the content you're viewing especially in the first few hundred hours you should be fine. Tone down the settings and watch full screen content. I wouldn't turn on a brand new plasma, go to ESPN, watch it for 10 hours straight and expect not to see image retention from the scrolling ESPN bar..

Not that unrealistic imo. We made it through football season just fine. But my hubby does surf during commercials and half time. I found your statement much more unrealistic but then I don't own the ST50 either, and that's why I asked what you have as well.

Correct....... However or pricing is not firm, it will be NO MORE than the listed price, we should be able to get the price down more, but not confirmed yet........

May/June at best for ZT60 models, right? I may have missed it if the delivery estimates have changed. Appreciated.

I was just at the BB store in Duluth Mn talking to the only sale rep in the Tv section I trust he gave me kind of what to watch for and what to stay away from for the 100 too 200 hours. Called Panasonic They told me i was not allowed to watch anything on my Direct TV with logos of any kind for more than 15 minutes and if i did i had to change the channel now stop. SO i was told no Espn so TBS Spike channels. I don`t game. SO if i have to do all of that just to watch tv that is pretty sad! And Yes i am a newbie which i am sure all of you have been before! looking back at my first post i can see the confusion of my post. What i want from a plasma is to be able to turn it on with out this slides to just watch tv and enjoy? some people say you can some people say you can't !Thanks

Rivers, there are other threads for other topics. That's what people are telling you. Your question has been answered and can be more fully discussed in dozens of other threads. This isn't the right one. That's all you're being told.

I watch whatever I want on my plasma by the way, with DirecTV, including lots of ESPN, and I have no issues with it. Many others are the same. For more information, please seek out a more appropriate thread, though.

Using slides has nothing to do with preventing IR.

You got the product before the msrp was announced? That seems odd. Or if you do have the msrp for this and other models then please advise. Thanks.

The S60's MSRP (as well as X60 and ST60 series) were all announced back in mid-January, and some were revised downward a few weeks ago.

The S60 series Owners Manual and E-Help Manuals are available for download too.

Not that the two won't more than likely be related (based on the 2012 IR issues).

I just noticed on Amazons comparison charts that the ST60 now does not have fast switching phosphors. Can anyone confirm this?

Might be an early error.

Panasonic's 3D models always use a panel that has fast-switching phosphors, and since the ST60 is re-using last year's ST50/GT50/VT50 panel module (which has fast-switching phosphors) it has to be just an accidental omission.

Many online retailer sites such as Amazon very often have incorrect information listed in their Technical Specifications pages. This happens every year. Don't take anything you read on retailers' information pages as gospel - verify it on Panasonic's website or in the online owners manual for the model in question.

According to the insider, it's been rebranded as focus field drive. So any panel that has that in the specs, it has "fast switching phosphors".

Forum member Urga brought this up in the S60 thread, it's a euro st60 discussion. Now I'm not familiar with this forum or with the reviewer, but he seams very impressed with the euro st60, even mentioning better blacks than the vt50. This is the translated discussion link

That's interesting. Is the euro ST60 the same panel as the US ST60?

You are comparing the S60 to the ST50. Shouldn't you be comparing the S60 to the S50?

Thanks for the heads up. I guess the S30 and S60 put that idea into my empty head.
