Based on D-Nice's guess he mentioned that the ZT will not be beating the MLL of a 9.5G Kuro but he figures it to be around 0.0018ftL. He had mentioned this number just as a guessbased on what the lowest MLL for the VT50 is at right now which i think is 0.002ftL. It could be lower as well will all have to wait and see.

I have a feeling the VT60 is going to come in at .0018 and the ZT a little lower. Just my Guess though wink.gif

Time will tell, then we can put it in writing.........

I predict the ZT will be at .0000000001 and crap gold bricks every time you turn it on.

Until it is in the hands of reviewers and respected experts, nobody can prove me wrong as we all are just GUESSING!!!

Not really sure why people want to know guesses.

Well, an educated guess is still more useful than your example. wink.gif

Although in reality, these guesses are not especially useful.

Every year there is hope of some sort of major change and then the reality of the minor one. If this is the year that breaks the pattern, we won't know until someone gets instruments on the display. All the speculation in the world is just that.

I didn't say they were useful, just more useful than his post.

But you're right, more useful than useless probably isn't anything to write home about. biggrin.gif

Essentially the same technology with some minor tweaking so its reasonable to assume at best some subtle improvement. If that's the case then the 2012 at a lower price becomes more attractive than the 2013 iteration.

What else is anyone going to write about after midnight on a Sunday when there isn't anything new available? Or, maybe just don't write. Oops, it's too late to do that. wink.gif

Completely agree. People are just too impatient and want to hear that its going to be the greatest thing ever.

Don't know why some people are fussing about this "new" red phosphor confused.gif. If it did anything for rec709 then fantastic.

But an expert on here stated that (it doesn't) - so no big deal then.

That sounds good, but the fact is that the deals on the leftovers just are not that good. At least, not good enough for me to not wait and see what the new models have to offer. The MSRP on the ST60 is so low, that worst case the improvements don't warrant the high price of the VT/ZT60's, I can just grab a 60" ST60 on sale for less than a leftover!

New model designation, though. I'd *hope* the difference is a little more stark than in previous years.

Are review samples of the flagship models typically delivered prior to release date? Wondering if we are going to get some useful determinations before May/June.

Oh ok thanks, hopefully the 2013 will improve on the 720 processing. Will the same panel then mean it will have the same issues with IR?

Here is a link that corroborates DavidHir sentiment regarding the vt60...http://mktdocs.com/MSC/VT60.pdf.

Translated via BING...

"Conclusion

Aside from its design and its interface, the ST60 offers virtually no improvement over the ST50 from 2012."

I read the word "identical" several times. So it seems most people were right if this review is accurate. They just added a few internet gadgets to the same television.

anything on the S60 vs U50?

I don't think anyone reviewed it yet but the S60 has more picture modes and adds the very useful Pro Settings menu that the higher models had in 2012 so that presumably will help adjust the picture more accurately than the U50:

Probably, but there is little agreement about what is normal plasma IR and what are IR issues. People who normally watch a wide mix of sources, and who don't use extra careful searches for IR don't seem to have IR issues. Those who concentrate their viewing on a few sources with high IR potential, and who tend to search for IR with various tools, tend to think of IR as an issue.

Yes, I suppose.

Right. If the leftovers aren't cheap, then who cares. I'm sure an ST60 is going to make most people happy, as would a leftover ST/VT/GT50.

Maybe a little. Thinking is going to be more than that seems like a road to disappointment.

I certainly watch a variety of sources -- including troublemakers like ESPN -- but also can "search for IR" and yet my searches come up empty. I suppose I could run the slides and really try to find the vaguest hints of it and maybe it would show there (I doubt it, but maybe...), but it fails to show for me on white backgrounds or black ones (even when I pause, walk up to the TV, and check).

Well....I decided to stick with the GT50 and hung it up on the wall last night. Only to find that the TV Wall Mount BB gave me was missing a guard on the end of the mount. So the TV could slide off! lol. Anyways, beautiful picture! Haven't seen the new TV models yet, but I don't think I will be regretting staying with the GT50!

About IR: Are the sets with the ordinary 600 Hz panels any better about it than the faster FFD panels, or vice versa?

Can anyone tell me if gt50 sold in the u.s. has viewer feature, the feature that let you watch TV on smart phone and tablet, while it's showing on the tv? Thank you

Excellent first post and great find! I was poking around and couldn't find any documents to verify it so i gave up, and you provided it in your first post wink.gif

AVJ and Greg Lee are vindicated smile.gif

I would like to know if the GT50 allows you to watch on your phone as well. That would be cool. I haven't read anything about that nor have I seen a feature for this, but it could be hidden. Anyone know?

Try the 2012 xx50 thread. Probably get better answers and more replies. This is the 2013 xx60 thread.
