A significant reduction in buzzing would be nice. What's the uniformity problem?

I hate to answer for him, but he's pulled an amazing feat on his Pioneer 101FD, managing to tweak it to the point of achieving a fluctuation between 0.0000 and 0.0001fL in an attempt last year. :0

^ isn't fl related to contrast ratio? I thought black level was mll. I guess we need to wait for official measurements from D nice in a few months.

foot-Lamberts (fL) is a way to express luminance, which is an expression of how dark (or bright) something is. smile.gif

fL is a measure of luminance. MLL stands for minimum luminance level.

Don't know anything about this.

D-Nice,do you know if there been any improvements on the gray scale and CMS on the ZT60 and VT60 lines as opposed to the VT50, and if so to what degree? Bill
post #759 of 1446
I don't have a VT50, but looking at calibration reports, I don't see how they could improve the color and grayscale. Perhaps they can make the grayscale more linear with the 10pt w/b, but that was 'fixable' by using the 2pt w/b first.
rahzel,

The problem with the VT50's 10 pt grayscale is that there isn't enough overlap to correct the inbetween points. By the same token, the previous year's had too much overlap.
That's what I meant by more linear... they need to make it more linear between points. smile.gif

Quick 3D glasses question- apparently the 2013 models will come with two pair of 3D glasses. Will these be the TY-ER3D4MU from 2012?

What site are these on? Not in URL format, so we can see it.
Not really a review if i found the right site. Google - Panasonic TC-P60ZT60 (TCP60ZT60) Review
post #768 of 1446

I see nothing that suggests that the 'reviewer' has seen the set in person. It's all based on specs, not observation.

If you want, the Delete Post button is in the message body near the red flag. Look for the red X

They don't allow some sites linked for the sponsors sake.
Sounds like there is an additional reason to not allow that site to be linked (fake reviews).

If that link you're trying to post is plasma tv buying guide by any chance, it's blocked because it's a sham site that is really an advertising site disguising itself as an impartial review and information site. The info they post is often wrong, fake, or plucked from other sites.

"Need" is a strong word. I'm pretty happy with the greyscale on my VT50.

I hope they spent whatever engineering time on other things.

That's fine but folks should have a chance to decide that for themselves. I did not know about the AVSForum objections to some sites. For anyone interested just do a Google search for review of the full model number - you'll have to judge the review for yourself.
Shame on you for trying to drive more ad traffic to the site even after it was called out by claiming people should "make up their own minds".

Ignore the stunt folks, it only encourages more.

So is it indeed Plasma TV Buying Guide?? If so, it's a scam site not a review site and is full of disinformation, and AVS is right to block it. One of their more famous "reviews" proclaimed a 40" Samsung LCD TV as the best TV on the market a few years ago. Clicking on reference links took you to one of their group of shady east coast online retailers that have different names, but are owned by the same company.

If you want to believe that they've somehow gotten their hands on and reviewed some 2013 Panasonics that have not even been built or released to the usual legitimate review websites yet then be our guest. There's no way they tested any 2013 Panasonic yet.

Perhaps it's a scam site, but surprisingly, my settings for my ST30 in Custom mode is pretty close to what they recommended, for whatever it's worth! Perhaps it's not all bad?

Well then you gotta ask yourself - "what website or review did they copy those settings from?". They sure didn't come up with them themselves. Just because some of the information they've copied happened to be legit, doesn't mean the website is legit. Spend some time poking around there - you'll see what i mean. I don't bother even looking at their site anymore.

Makes sense. Thanks for this info.
