Adding BBC Iplayer On Samsung Smart TV's

I wanted to watch some of the Olympic coverage the BBC was offering. As most people know the Iplayer app is only available in the UK. This is a method to circumvent it. I have done this on my 51E6500 plasma, a 2012 model. This will only get you the necessary UK apps, you will still need a VPN service as the BBC does an IP check to see where you are coming from.

Go to the Smart Hub Screen
Place the cursor on the 'Samsung Apps' icon
Press FF,2,8,9,RW,Enter

A screen should pop up letting you change the region of the App store, choose the UK.

Voila

NOTE: The Apps you currently have that are not available in the UK will be deleted. They will come back when you switch back to the "US" App store however.

Hi,
Is it possible to add a vpn to the samsung smart tv without buying a cloakbox? I use Witopia but they only deliver the cloakbox to the US and I'm in Dubai.
Thanks for the great tip about bbc iplayer

There are many VPN's that can be used anywhere in the world, Unblock and Overplay are 2 that have trial offers, you should be able to see if they work for you in Dubai.

Cococ,

That's exactly what i am trying to do. unfortunately the magic code you provide doesn't work on a series 7 samsung. Does anyone know the magic code to change App store region.

Cheers,

Mike
