Since mine is in the post and the reviews are out, it deserves its own thread.

Looks like the same years old LD/DVD master, Disney do it again!

Considering the ONLY DVD out there is non-anamorphic, does anyone care?
This will be a huge leap no matter how you slice it.

The UK one was anamorphic, god forbid I want more than a 10+ year old master on one of my favorite movies

Greetings,

I finished watching it this morning. I will have something up in the next few days for those that are interested. smile.gif

Greetings,

I didn't request it. The August 7th release date has me swamped. Of that group from Disney I have Grosse Point Blank, Adventures in babysitting (review posted), and Romy and Michele's high school reunion. Sorry about that..

Regards,

Quite frankly, I don't think I've ever seen you post anything positive about ANYTHING on these forums. All you do is complain.

I have clearly voiced my love of many discs ACTUALLY I own over 900 that over 90% of them are stunning and I will and HAVE said so, but ok what ever makes you feel better now more than just myself have called you on your post.
I see you know how to use shift on a keyboard, nice work.

I don't suppose it's occurred to you to stop and consider why so many people seem to think you're the resident Debby Downer around here, has it? Of course not, especially when it's so much easier to post a snarky one-liner and put the person on ignore, huh?

pot, meet kettle

Oh look a one liner, and my response was two lines in the previous post.

Plus someone that obviously knows my post history so well to post statements about it as fact would know you are wrong and seeing what you want to see.
But being a liar is cool when you have nothing better to do.

That would only make sense if I, too, had a reputation of being a Debby Downer on here. But since I don't, your cliched response fell flat.

Where have I lied? I didn't call you a liar in the other thread, even though you posted things that were completely and utterly false. Can you not have an adult conversation without having a hissy fit at some point?

***Edited to remove part of dvdmike007's post that was left out of the quote brackets.

By saying that I am always down on discs, that is a lie. if you find even one post this year or even past this year that is positive on even one disc that is a lie.
Flat out basic lie, and you called me a name what was it? Debby Downer? twice? and I am the child? right ok.

Also hissy fit? have we not established I am actually verbally laughing at your posts?

Also odd that I am down on this disc yet have stated in this and other threads that I have bought it....
You can never say anything bad about any subject ever, nor can you want more for your money. Passion for films is why I am here and I want them to look their best full stop.

Proof you lied, calling you a liar was a fact not some silly name.
That is from three pages on here, I could go back years, odd that a lot of people who have said things recently are in those threads being down on things I am up on.......

It's an ancient, ancient DVD master with appalling clarity and grain structure, evident sharpening... and it just look like a bad cable master. It looks like old video, and not at all like a film. And I'll still buy the goddamn thing because my DVD is non-anamorphic.

I feel dirty. I feel used, and I feel dirty.
I guess we'll have to see if it's something that can be imported.

Very sad. Disney drops the ball on two cool John Cusack films.

Got this, high fidelity and clue today and my thoughts match yours exactly.
Who would have thought that out of the three clue looks absolutely stunning and state of the art.
White the two newer titles look old and tired!
I would go further to say that it's the exact laserdisc master that the DVD has, wish I had my pc back to capture and compare.
I have the UK DVD the pal laserdisc and the ntsc disc also.
Would be interesting too see...

I have had the old LD, the non-anamorphic DVD, an HDTV rip, and this new disc.

No, this is not a bright, shiny looking "new film" transfer. It does have the overall look and densities of the previous video versions, with the additions of better color, sharper image, and more detail. Looks kinda like an average HD transfer of 15 year-old film elements for a relatively low budget film. Oh, wait...

15 million is a low budget? Clue is an older film with the same budget and looks better than most new transfers, same with Barbarella
