Both are old tho, and in a very few places Grosse looks not to bad, but for an anniversary release it deserved more.
Watched the whole disc last night. And yeah, there are a few places where it doesn't look too bad. All that really did was taunt me with how good it *could* have been, however. Ah well. The one modification I'll make to my original assessment is that the edge enhancement doesn't stand out as much as I thought it would. It's certainly there at points, but it's nowhere near as distracting as I thought it would be.
It's one of my favorite films of all time. And I would have said that before watching it last night, which reminded me of just how much I love this film. For my money, it has one of the best and most appropriate licensed soundtracks of all time - and I don't even really like the 80's. I've also never been much of a fan of Minnie Driver but her chemistry with Cusack in this film works perfectly as well. And there's just a superb balance when it comes to all of the different elements in this film - comedy, action, romance all at the perfect mix.
And in a way, I am happy to have this Blu-ray Disc. Because it's still an improvement over my non-anamorphic DVD and the sound mix is great.
