lines in hd display

I have a UN60D6000SF with a CISCO 8742HDC DVR through Bright House. I am getting lines in the picture, whether recorded or real-time. In the letter "O" for instance, the character appears to be made up of fine arcs facing upward at the top, and arcs facing downward at the bottom of the letter. The resolution is reading 1920/1080/60i. I don't seem to get this in DVD playback. I am using HDMI cable connections to the HDMI2 input. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

What is the resolution of the TV source that you are receiving with the DVR 480i, 720p, or 1080i? Is it possible that the DVR is rexcivng 480i and upscalig it to 1080i?

Unknown. Standard cable Brighthouse Network. As I said, TV reports 1920/1080/60i when I request "imfo" from TV remote. Appreciate your help.

I understand that your PVR is sending 1920x1080i/60 to your TV as indicated by the TV's Info button.
But that does not mean that the channel your PVR is receiving is broadcast in 1080i/60. ABC, FOX and ESPN broadcast in 720p and many cable channels and some OTA channels are broadcast in SD 480i and your PVR has settings enableing these channels to be upscaling to 1080i before sending the content to your TV?

I just had the same 8742 box (brand new according to tech) installed with twc. I had the same problem and the tech saw it while he was still here. It did it on all hd channels and was especially bad with the crawling graphics at the bottom of the screen ad the would dance around and were not readable. He did not have a replacement on hand so he tried rebooting and checking connections. Problem remained. He then rebooted with the hdmi unplugged and that seemed to fix, though i did notice it again on a recorded program. Haven't seen it in a few days. But at least i wam not the only one with the problem. I have a samsung unc46c6400
