I got a VP322 from a coworker who knew I was a fix-it geek and have bought a rebuild kit for the power supply. Does anyone know what causes this "pop of death"? As soon as I finished my cap install job and plugged it in it popped as soon as I turned it on. My wife was worried from the noise but it turned on and worked wonderfully. I was still not comfy with the sound it made because it was definitely the sound of a cap blowing. I did a thorough check of all of it's menus and everything but it all worked fine. It was on the table so my wife wanted it to be put into our bedroom. Well after all of the disconnecting of the old tv and the reconnecting of the newly rebuilt one I was worn out and ready for beer and a movie. Well it didn't turn on at all. I want to know what causes the problem and fix it so I won't need to install new caps all the time! Anyone know the answer to this mystery?
