The other day I was told by my roommate that my TV just wont turn on. I plug it in and get an orange Vizio logo and that is all, never turns white or any flicker of the screen. No sound either. Power button clicks but makes no change.
I took the TV apart and found no obvious blown caps but I did find the 4AMP 250VOLT fuse was bad, I replaced it with another same type of a fuse and it blows instantly when the TV is plugged in. I unplugged all the other circuit boards from the power supply board and when I plug in the TV the fuse did not pop. (I did not unplug the 2prong power plug). I then plugged in the main board and that alone after plugging in the TV again caused the fuse to pop instantly.
Does this make for a bad main board?
What else can I do to diagnose and/or repair?
