Hey I have the chance to get both for the same price, but no dealers around me to listen,

What would you chose, the MA GX300 or the Kef R700 ?

Mostly for movies.

I have a SVS SUbwoofer so bass is not a huge issue.

Thanks guys

Well, you are making a choice between excellent and excellent; pretty hard to go wrong either way.

I personally bought the Anthony Gallo CL-3 speakers, but who can say which you might like better.

One thing about the Gallo speakers, though....you can try them free at home ordering online for up to 60 days. They pay shipping both ways if you decide to return them. Hard to beat that. Nothing equals an at-home audition.

I didn't return mine, that's for sure; they are incredibly good! Musical instruments and movie dialogue are both incredibly clear and realistic.

The Absolute Sound has a review of them in the July/August issue.

Has anyone heard the 2?

It has to be either the GX300 or the R700. Long story.

Thanks again

If that is the choice, I would say that the GX300 is the best-sounding speaker. I have heard it, and it is nearly as good as the Vandersteen 3A speakers I have at my desert house.

Its ribbon tweeter is a major difference and will sound better than the one in the KEF speaker.

WOW Thats saying something considering the price of those speakers..

Leaning towards the GX300 just due to the fact that I dont like the look of the 800ds for the rears. and will be getting the GXFX as well

Well have pulled the trigger and just upgraded from my RX6, RXFX and RX Centre, to...

GX300
GX350
GXFX

Lets hope they sound amazing, I am sure they will, now need to sell all my other kit to pay this off..

Don't forget to share your thoughts on the GX speakers, after you get them. Would like to know the difference between the RX and the GX range.

Ok finally sold most of my RX6 kit and made room for the GX300 - GX350 and the GXFX.

They are amazing, I am listening to some good guitar pieces that really pic out the solo's and some piano as well.

Going from the RX6 to the GX300 is just sublime, but they should be for the price difference.

They are heavy and a lot bigger than I thought, and just fit under my TV, and when I say Just, its like 1-2mm

One big noticeable different is the vocals and strings coming from the ribbon tweeter, again its giving me shivers, and they are only a day out of the box, and I can only
assume it will get better.

The wife does not like them and she moans, saying you are going to have to keep cleaning them, and they are too big and they look dumb by the TV, as they are gloss black,
but I promised I will not be buying anything else.

This is my 3rd upgrade, and the last for a very long time. But I may buy a pre amp or something to get the best out of them as, while my onkyo 818 is driving them fine
I feel there is just some extra sparkle that can be gained from these speakers.
