TX-NR609, after 6 months complete HDMI input failure

Thread Starter
I apologize if this is a known problem or if there are other threads concerning this exact topic.

I purchased the 609 via Amazon in January. Generally speaking, everything has been working well. Last night my wife couldn't get our cable box working. After cord swapping to rule things out, I deduced that each of my HDMI inputs were giving me a "no signal" message. The HDMI connection to from the 609 to the TV is working (ex: Cable Box > Component cables > NR-609 > HDMI Cable > Television does work).

I also successfully updated my firmware to 1141-1600-0010-8106 which did nothing to solve the issue.

Does anyone know what this might be? I'm guessing the entire HDMI input board has gone bad, or perhaps some sort of massive handshake issue where the 609 is basically rejecting everything I have plugged into it (Motorola cable box, Xbox 360, PS3, and and Apple TV).

Any insight or moral support is welcome.

Can't say for sure, but since onkyo has a history of bad HDMI boards, I would guess the HDMI board went bad.

My HDMI board went out about a 1wk ago after 10mos. Not very happy since I'll need to ship it out of state to have it repaired under warranty at my cost. mad.gif
