I'm trying to make room for a media cabinet to house my components. Here is what I've got:

It's one of those onkyo 6.1 HT in a box setups. The fronts are on a couple of pretty nice 2 ft stands so they are mobile. The center is under the tv in the console space. The wall that the tv is against has been totally maxed out. Nothing can spread apart any further without sending the front right into the walkway. The only way I can think of to put a console here is to move the fronts up by about 2 or 3 feet (depending on the size of the cabinet.
Will this ruin my soundstage? Will putting it so far in front of my center speaker wash out dialogue?
My receiver is capable of setting delays and controlling db+- per channel. Can I fiddle enough with that to overcome some of those problems?

Unfortunately, wall mounting the fronts is not an option. The drywall is old and thin. The studs have a weird placement. These guys are heavy beasts that wouldn't hang safely.

Any other options with this setup?
