Hello everyone!
I purchased this TV via the great Amazon deal on Tuesday and it arrived on Wednesday. Awesome, right? See, I've never owned a TV and I finally broke down this weekend. I drove to Best Buy and, after hours of squinting, starting and comparing, I settled on a cheap, cheap, cheap LED 46" Westinghouse.
I giddily arrived home from Best Buy, feeling a little like a battle harden solider about to enjoy the spoils of war. I set up the TV, plugged my PC in and WHAM-O! 1080p resolution. Awesome Awesome.
But then I got greedy. I did some research, paid $150 more, and 'upgraded' (maybe) to the Panasonic which, as mentioned above, arrived yesterday.
Importantly, note that my laptop was outputting 1080p to the Westinghouse.
When I plug in my laptop to the Panasonic via the VGA - VGA, I'm stuck in 1024 resolution! Moreover, display options in Windows 7 do not reveal 1080p as a valid option, unlike when I had the Westinghouse plugged in. Here, when I try to select another output resolution (say, the biggest resolution current'y available (meaning, showing as an option), 1600 x 1200) the screen goes blank and I have to wait until the laptop automatically reverts to original resolution.
In conclusion, the problem is I don't see 1920 x 1080 as a resolution option AND no resolution besides 1024 seems to be working. Any suggestions? Shake the Panasonic for a bit?
