Why Does It Seem LCD Computer Monitors Don't Have Clouding While TVs Often Do?

I've checked all my computer monitors, and none of them have clouding that I can find. I take Windows Paint, and fill the screen with black. Then I go full screen, and crank the brightness and contract up. No clouding. No flashlighting either, and they are edge lit.

Yet most LCD TVs seem to have this problem. What's going on? Are computer monitors built to higher standards?

im wondering the same thing. ive bought two 47" 1080p LCD TVs in the last few months, and they both looked veiled/blotchy. but thats one of the reasons i bought them at Costco. Costco wont try and screw you over if you want to return something you dont like

I am sure the size of the panel has a lot to do with it. Unless your computer monitors are 47" or larger it's really not a fair comparison. Similarly, 22" televisions may not suffer from clouding or flashlighting either.
