The weakest part of the Battle Rounds now is the obvious time stalling, which just kills the momentum and makes segments boring. I wish they would tighten up the show, and have more battles per episode.

It's nice to see that the ratings have held steady from last week, with solid progression as the night went on. The half-hour breakdown was:
4.0 (11.26m) - 4.7 (12.71m) - 4.9 (12.83m) - 5.3 (13.51m).

NBC owned the 18-49 market that everyone covets.

With that said, SPEED THIS **** UP! Holy crap it takes forever to get to the actual performance. This is what bogs down an otherwise interesting portion of the show. The steal adds some nice drama, though. I love that addition. Shouldnt call it a steal though. It's more of a Save. Steal would be applicable if a fellow judge was allowed to take a singer prior to the performance occurring. Some really good performances last night.

Good show tonight. I am glad they sped thru some of the performances. From what they did show of those, I did not miss a thing. I thought there was one stand out performer tonight. I will wait to post until I see that more people have watched. No fun spoiling it for all of you.

Voice dominated the night yet again. People aren't tuning out yet, which I'm sure NBC enjoys. It's also serving as a good lead in for that Matthew Perry show.

Please don't say it was that two toned hair girl. Seriously, I just don't get the appeal of these mousey girls who sing so low you can barely hear them and when you do hear them you see they can't hit a lot of the notes. That girl she was up against totally blew her out of the water. Thank God for the steal because that truly would have been a travesty.

Anyway, so much for my Domo moving on. That's two seasons in a row where my hottie got ousted early. I will confess thought that the guy against Domo was better as much as that pains me to admit.

Was hoping Blake would nab her. If Cassadee doesnt make it through, my hotties will all be gone. Oh well, at least the music is good.

Hip hop dancer Domo was outdated by about a decade. You could almost see Christina remembering ancient MTV videos that she made while watching Domo trying to sell it. Also, she pulled such a clown act after her blind audition that no judge wanted any part of her.

Loved Adam's honesty about that. "You scared all of us."

I thought Blake might take 15 year old Nathalie Hernandez, because she was similar to some of his girls from the past 2 seasons, but he didn't. Maybe he is tired of trying to develop these passive and quiet types into some sort of interesting stage performer.

The Voice really needs a dynamic and vibrant winner this season. Javier Colon and Jermaine Paul were both good singers with zero personality, they couldn't even hold anyone's attention long enough to complete an interview.

No I totally agree with you on Melanie the "mouse". That other girl really did blow her out the water, no contest.

I thought Aquile has an amazing voice. It seems to be ready for radio. I can't say that I would be a fan of his, but I could see women throwing their underwear at him during his concerts.

Especially during the rehearsal footage, I thought Melanie was complete sh**. When it went to the live portion, I thought she was only slightly better than she was during rehearsals. Choosing her was my only wtf moment so far.

Yep .. as I watch Melanie, I'm thinking "Put some freckles around her nose and voila, Raggedy Ann" ..

I thought Aquile had the best performance of the night .. he simply blew the girl out of the water, no contest ..

Hit the nail on the head .. and no one deserves a one word name until everyone in the World knows who they are ..

Just caught up with both of this week's shows on the DVR. I am with you on the Nelly vs. De'Borah pairing. Nelly sounded like he was the very outer edge of his range and was straining. If he had dropped down a register he might have had a smoother sound. De'Borah took awhile but about a third of the way through she really found and held on the guts of the song and killed it. She is clearly a fascinating young lady in every way. She has taken the term androgenous and flipped it on its head x10 but she can definitely wail and God bless her parents for loving and supporting her without, it seems, qualification. I'd imagine that there were many trials along the way.

Yeah, I said after the blind auditions that if Domo didn't win her battle round, she was most likely not gonna be stolen as no one else showed any interest. The girl can sing and she looks fantastic, but she really is a dancer first and a singer second.

Same thought here. As soon as I saw and heard her, I said even if she's not picked, that's the type of girl Blake always goes for so she's back in. I was surprised when he didn't. Sad thing is, if Melanie the mouse didn't move on, I'm sure they would be all over themselves trying to get her on their teams like she is some spectacular find.

To me, Domo was a classic case of style over substance .. and her attitude helped take her down .. I thought the scene where Rob Thomas waved his finger in front of his face in a mock Diva move after Domo praised herself said it all .. humility this early in the show, anyone .. ??

I loved Rob doing that phomy diva bit, almost in a "oh no you didn't" pose.
Domo reminded me of the old saying "all hat, no cattle". Beautiful girl, good dancer, so so voice and a lot of bluff and bravado.
I don't think I've laughed harder than when Domo said, "I'm a dancer that can also sing as good as Mariah and Aretha."

Yeahhhhh, goodbye.

I have mixed feelings about Terisa .. I still think this early on contestants should display some degree of humility .. and I don't think she's that great a singer .. obviously, CeeLo thinks differently ..

Paulina did not take XTinas advice to tone it down and it cost her ..

Nicholas David against Todd Kessler in the battle of Midwest dudes with beards, over Hall & Oates' "She's Gone." ... there really was no contest .. although Nicholas may look like the guy that's the most unlikely to win, the man can sing .. I'm not calling the winner of the season, but I think he'll do well ... and Blake saying "you look like Jesus and people like that." was pretty funny ..

I didn't see anyone last night who will run deep in this competition, except maybe Joseyln (the last girl who was stolen by Adam over Blake). If she sings a more appropriate song next round, and isn't trying to shout over another singer like Sylvia, then Joseyln could interest those same voters who carried Jessica Sanchez last year on Idol.

On a related note - the 16 year old Jessica Sanchez was just signed for a "recurring role" on Glee.

Ceelo wasted a save. That woman has no chance of competing for the win.

Regarding ratings, The Voice won again and lost no viewers from last week despite being up against MNF, DWTS, and playoff baseball. NBC has to be ecstatic. Simon has to be crying into his morning latte, as The Voice continues to beat his show by about 3 million viewers in the all important marketing age-range.

You heard his comment .. ?? "She's my mother, my sister, my ex-wife all rolled into one .. "

On the ratings, although I am outside their demographic, I'm glad that those of us that stuck with the show and defended it are bring vindicated .. biggrin.gif

It's good to see the public embracing the show that's putting actual talent on display instead of stupid manufactured drama.

Especially in a TV landscape of plenty of manufactured drama .. maybe that's why I like the show as much as I do ..

Can't really argue with any of the choices this week, as opposed to last week. Some were no brainer decisions and others were so close I was fine with the coaches going either way.

Oh, and Liz Davis is HOT! biggrin.gif

It took me a few minutes to put my finger on it, but to me she looks a little like a younger Dina Lohan.

I agree with you. He has (IMO) a standout voice.
Nicholas David does have a good and unique voice, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't distracted every time I see him sing.

Either he has really bad teeth or that dirty looking mustache is just hanging over his lip to cover his mouth.
I get why they did it, but was anyone really surprised that the last steal just happened to come in the last battle? I know they most likely edited it that way and that battle occured earlier, but it took away from caring who won that battle as you knew both would be moving on.
