The show would be better if Trevin and and Terry had gone. At least for me. They're both the only two that I know exactly what I'm going to get before the show starts. I liked the diversity and weirdness of Melanie and Amanda. I enjoy that about St. Nick as well.

Of course I was disappointed when Amanda bit the dust but when it was down to her and Nick, she was a goner. Sometimes my feeling is that a pure singer like Amanda is seen by many voters as too good or too polished or too "professional" and that weighs against him or her. Amanda has sung backup for some of the biggest names in the music business and is cutting her first solo album so, hopefully, the exposure that the show has given her will get her some serious play. It was time for little Melanie to go home. She is remarkably mature for her age, cute as all hell and has a unique voice but I suspect that her future does not lie in music but in art and photography. As for the remaining four, I only find Nick to be vocally interesting. If Terry could discover some more flavor in his voice, he could catch on (never to Steve Perry's level though, one the great voices in rock/pop history). Cassadee is pleasant enough but has nothing to really distinguish her from other singers. I know that many disagree but I cannot imagine sitting through a live concert by Trevin. He's going to need studio enhancement to sound consistently good. My suspicion, however, is, that given the almost God-like praise from the coaches, he will be the winner when all is said and done.

This is exactly how I feel also. Melanie and Amanda were two contestants who adapted songs to their personal style and made unique performances. This final four is boring and not worthy of the extreme amounts of praise that the judges are piling on them. It all makes me much less interested in the final shows of the season.

I agree with most of the comments here. Had no problem with the final four except I would have had Amanda in there and Cassadee out. Other than she is cute, I don't understand her appeal. Not that great a voice. Not sure what did Amanda in. May have been how votes get split among voters who vote for the same type of singer. Maybe Trevin pulled her votes. SHe might have tried TOO hard and pulled some away. Nick cracks me up...we all Fart together? Anyway pulling for him in some wierd way.

Melanie did better on the last duet. Too bad it was too late by then. I liked her and Miss brown a lot more than Trevin and the ZZ-top lookalike.

We have ..
Cassadee .. a good looking girl that's an OK singer .. listen closely to any track she's done .. in most cases, not all, but most, she drifts on pitch .. she's not that dynamic, but if you are looking for a vocalist that appeals to the teen / young adult crowd, she's your winner (someone mentioned her as being a Taylor Swift Wannabe earlier in the thread .. which may be true, but Swift's fame came from the ability to write songs that connect with her demographic in a huge way .. if she were just a singer, we would not know her name) .. Cass will have the toughest road of all simply because there are literally thousands of her working the fair / casino / bar circuit that have tried desperately to break in .. go to Nashville .. they are a dime a dozen .. and many are much better singers and lookers .. she is no Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson ..
Trevin .. seems like a nice enough kid, with a good backstory .. but notice how Carson does not send as many commentary questions his way .. why is that .. ?? And take a look at his expressions when just standing there .. I don't know if he even has a clue on how far he's come .. at any rate, he is the vocal gymnast .. much like Colon and Jermaine .. although they were much more commercially viable than Trevin .. can you say Ruben Studdard .. ?? Myself, I get tired of the same schick from the guy .. let's wait for the really, really high note scream and swoon .. then let's praise him like he's the Savior of Music .. no thank you .. but, if the vocal gymnast is your cup o tea, then he's your winner ..
Terry, Terry, Terry .. yes, I have listened to those songs from the day they came out on the radio .. yes, I have all of those records .. yes, I can sing along with all of them .. they are as familiar and comfortable to me as an old pair of broke in shoes .. but, unless you plan on doing what you've been doing (bar bands / cover singer) .. how far can they take you in the real World .. ?? Perhaps you can make it to the level of David Cook , Chris Daughtry but myself, I'd much rather listen to what they are doing rather than your week in and week out covers .. Steve Perry, where are you when we need you .. ?? But, if the Hobbit like wannabe Rocker with a lack of real swagger and a penchant for the oldies sung very much like the originals appeals to you, then he's your man ..
That brings me to St Nick .. which if you've read my posts from the get go, I have been a fan of from inception .. other than the mis step of September, which I blame on CeeLo (Nick looked obviously uncomfortable to me when he did that number) .. I believe he has consistently made each and every song his own, done a fresh and contemporary version of it, maintained his own integrity throughout the process, keeping his look and his style all his own .. it is absolutely a testament to his talent that, all things considered, he is still in it .. that, in an of itself speaks volumes .. he's beat out the teen heart throbs, he's beat out the contemporary singers, hes' beat out the much better looking singers, he's beat out everyone but himself and the other three .. what does that mean .. ?? It means he has that rare something that transends everything else .. it means he has the talent and the ability to connect with people .. which, IMO, should make him the winner .. so, if the non-conformist with the soulful voice that reaches into your heart each and every time (OK, most times.. wink.gif ) and reminds you what a joy a great singer / performer used to be back in the day appeals to you, then he's your man ..

Comercially viable yes, but they are a dime a dozen so she really doesn't stand out amongst all the rest.

The only two that I feel brought something new to the table are Amanda and Nick.
In regards to Amanda, I've been racking my brain and I honestly cannot think of a true black rocker chick. That was the main appeal of her to me. You normally don't see that style coming out of black women and it was cool.
In regards to Nick, what else can be said aside from who even sounds like him these days. If this were the 60's or 70's, then I'd say he's just another in a long line of like sounding singers, but today it's a rarity.

I'd say 20 pounds. 10 of it on the backside. Too skinny, but still a lovely woman with a wonderful voice. Ultimately what wins me over is the rocker chick attitude.

I agree 100% .. and as far as the attitude goes, she can pull it off .. IMO, she has the swagger .. as opposed to Terry, which tries but just not have "it" .. for me anyway ..

Amanda is like a Pat Benetar / Lita Ford / Chrissie Hynde .. I'd like to see Amanda with a Les Paul .. even if it was just a prop ..

Just noticed that NBC has maintained their high ratings for the entire season so far. The drop off that many people assumed would come when the auditions ended never materialized.

Started watching Idol in season 5 (actually saw the season 4 finale - had I known about Carrie Underwood - not her singing but her looks - I would have watched season 4 wink.gif). In all of Idols years, that I saw, and of the first 2 years of The Voice, the only contestant I ever looked forwarded to hearing and who I ever said I would buy an album ("album"?!?! -do we still use that term?) of was Chris Daughtry.

But now, with season 3 of The Voice, I have found another -- St. Nick. I look forward each week to what he will bring and I would (will) absolutely buy his music and have it playing in the background.

Glad to read some Cassadee criticism. I really don't get it either. She can sing, but as someone mentioned, she sounds like so many other female singers out there, but just not quite as good. I liked Amanda waaaaay better.

As far as Trevin, he reminds of of Scotty McCreery from Idol -- i.e. I can't believe THAT voice comes out of THAT person. For both of them I just start laughing when they sing.

Go Nick. Unfortunately, Daughtry finished 4th, so...

That's the great thing I'm hanging on to...Even if Nic doesn't win I'm confident we will be seeing songs and albums from him that I will buy..everyone else (except for Melanie) I probable would not.

The Voice Season 3 Finale Will Consist of Two Finalists.

For the first time, only two contestants will be in the live finale on Dec. 18. Previously, the finale has consisted of a Final 4, one coach from each team, but now that the coaches aren’t guaranteed a spot, the Final 2 will give voters a chance to get to know the top contestants better.

With the last four standing, I think there will be a three way "split" among the remaining male contestants, that will be their disadvantage.
With Dez and Amanda gone, It's hard for me to imagine the teen girls vote for any of the three male contestants.
With Amanda in the finals, the votes for Casadee would have been split fair. Anyway, I think it was her red leather costume that did her in. (Just kidding!)wink.gif
Am reading the news/updates daily, I just hate it that many are already declaring Casadee as the winner! mad.gif

So apparently, according to the latest commercials, there is another "shocking" twist coming up. Any guesses on what it will be?

I initially was going to predict that Blake and Cee-Lo would have to give up one contestant each to Adam and Christina so they were back to each having a horse in the running, but that wouldn't work with it being such a quick turn around from live performances to live votes.

I'm gonna say it will be something lame like the announcement of who is replacing Cee-Lo and Christina next season, like we don't already know this.

Each coach is allowed to bring back one contestant, thus extending the season by a couple additional weeks and allowing NBC to collect more ad revenue .. wink.gif

Latest news said there will be three contestants instead if two in the finals. Terry and Nicholas gave BRAVURA performance in the Top 4 presentation withe songs Let it Be and You Are So Beautiful respectively. These guys know how to save the best for the finals. Their performance were Game Changers!

I agree....the only one of the four that didn't bring it was Trevin....he sounded very flat. My prediction is Trevin goes home tonight....
