Highlight of the night for me musically was the Peter Frampton song - so much character in his voice, made Terry, who was probably intimidated, seem awfully bland. I also enjoyed the song by the five girls toward the end of the show - they all sounded surprisingly good and made me think that the early eliminations are kind of a crap shoot. And the bit with Nick, Trevin, Dez, and Amanda was really nice. It was interesting to hear the two little solos by Trevin - the first he sounded great, the second he went for those high notes that he almost makes and sounded bad - to me, anyway. Conclusion: There's a fine voice there, a lot of talent, needs a huge amount of real coaching to get him to tone it down. Cassadee is a very good singer but forgettable - not someone I'd go to see or listen to on the radio - but possible the kids will bite. If Nick appeared locally I'm buying a ticket, but he does need to choose his songs carefully.

I knew he had tats - but didn't know that many. The only thing we said when he showed up on screen was "is that the 'dude who looks like a lady'?"

Cass had a the most consistent performances and varied up her style a bit, unlike the other two. Only Amanda had more variety and arguably a better voice, but she had a few weaker performances. The fact Nick got to 3 says the shore isn't blindly biased to just looks and category, and I agree the show runners changed the format to liven the last show up as they probably knew Cass and Terry were far enough ahead of him for awhile.
