Not all of us feel that speed is necessarily the overriding factor for a process that is done infrequently..
However, recent TV's in the UK at least, are subject to a 4 hour window of use.
I spoke to Sharp Support about this and they said it was an EU Regulation that they were required to comply with (power saving enforcement by The European Union)
As a result, a message is displayed on the Display every 4 hours asking the viewer to confirm they wish to continue viewing. Unless confirmation is received via an ok on the remote the TV turns itself off.
This function cannot be switched off on the menu system and is embedded somewhere within the TV software (firmware).
So switch on TV for warm up period, if eeCB used for 3D do an RGB balance, then eventually a 3D Cube calibration.
So leaving calibration to continue without return within the 4 hours since last TV switch on will switch off the Display being calibrated.
Incidentally, my Sky STB requires a similar ok confirmation after 4 hours.
