Whoa interesting, I had no idea this is Ang lee until you mentioned it. Doesn't look like anything he's done in the past. Thought it was something from Darren Aronofsky or M knight. Guess the man is tired of sappy melancholy love dramas..will def check it out now.

This was a VERY popular book awhile back...
AL is a guy who can pull it off, IMO.

I saw the 3-D preview at Prometheus, and it looked intriguing. The 3-D looked excellent.

I did pick-up the book at an airport years ago, but, for some reason, I couldn't get into it...confused.gif

My wife was reading it on a cruise a couple of years back and I'd occasionally glance over her shoulder and read a few paragraphs. A really interesting premise - kid is shipwrecked on a life raft with a Tiger and he's got to figure out a way to keep the Tiger from treating him as lunch. He sort of trains it to stay on its side of the raft and leave him alone. I figured it would be movie-bait at some point; looks like here it is.

IIRC, there is a Hindu or Arab folktale that is similar.
