A CHALLENGE FOR THE BEST OF YOU

I have an unusual setup and I need help, please
1. Standard def TV
2. Toshiba D-R410
3. Comcast cable box 2600
4. Blue Ray Player
5. Netflix which streams through the blu-ray.
I have hooked it up with s- video and RCA cables and I can record off of
Netflix, but I only get the Audio. Does anyone think an HDMI cable will help
or am I hopeless? Thanks in advance and good luck with this one.

Well blu-ray is definitely hi def territory but your display is only standard def with no hdmi inputs. I'm not sure, but it seems to me if blu-ray sources could be output to standard def displays, the hd takeover would have been slowed a bit. However in the end it depends on how your blu-ray player handles the streams and whether it will send out the video through the s-video. You didn't mention what brand it is.

Thanks so much for replying. I have a Dynex Blu-Ray which has an HDMI hook up and my Toshiba DVR also has an HDMI. I just ordered one from( Ebay$ 2.98 with free shipping) so when I get that, I'll try again. Right now I have the blu-ray output to the tv and I have the s-viveo out from the tv going into the dvr, so I can watch Netflix, and I can record off of cable. The strange thing is the only inputs to the cable box are the coaxial in and coax out to tv. I know
I have to buy a new tv, it's just not in my budget right now. Anyway, Thanks again and have a great day !
