Custom Subwoofer for SUV?

I'd like to add a subwoofer for a Toyota Highlander, somewhere in the back, without sacrificing cargo/hauling space.

Anyone do something like this? What size is needed for an SUV?

For reference, I have a custom built 15" Sub for HT, but I heard you can get by with much smaller for car audio. Thanks!

You may be better off posting this in the car audio section, but the DIYers here will probably give you a hand as well.

Check this one out from Bill's site. It's his AutoTuba.

The rss390ho 15 does well in a small sealed enclosure.

Thanks, didn't even know it existed! This one is my go-to forum. I just posted in Car Audio. That AutoTuba looks like a beast!

Oh yeah, that's right! I'm using the RF at home and it is bigger than those mini-fridges you see in dorm rooms!

it's the total opposite of a beast. An Alpine Type R 12 that can be had for as little as $99 in a sealed box with a 500 watt amp will have more output and take up less space. Even the 10 would be better. If you want a real small box look at the kicker L7 8 inch. The box can be as small as .33 CU. FT the 10 10 .66 CU. FT.
