Subwoofer for SUV?

Thread Starter
I'd like to add a subwoofer for a Toyota Highlander, somewhere in the back, without sacrificing cargo/hauling space.

Anyone do something like this? What size is needed for an SUV?

For reference, I have a custom built 15" Sub for HT, but I heard you can get by with much smaller for car audio. Thanks!

You could get by with a pair of 12 inch subs if you really wanted too or you could go single 12, if your not looking for something that will knock the car next door over onto it's roof, you might consider a mid range 10 inch sub.

Just make sure you match your ratings and make sure you can supply enough power for your setup.

budget?

listening preferences and performance expectations?

SUV's get a big gain in bass due to its cavernous nature. A single 10" would be fine.

I have a 10": Dayton HO Reference sub 1.0 cu.ft ported to 29 Hz.

Here is a great diy box designed for the Titanic sub:

Supply tons of power and it will sound great.
