Yamaha RX-v373 issue with SD signal

I quickly saw this commented on at a review from Crutchfield, but no where else.

I have a Pace set top box feeding signal to a brand new Yamaha rx-v373, however I have found while on an SD signal, if I change the receiver's volume, the signal from the receiver to the tv cuts out for 2 to 3 seconds (the onscreen display from the receiver remains on screen). When changing volume while on an HD feed, there is no issue.

Anyone know why this might be happening? I have not found any problem reviews like this thus far.

Thanks!

First I apologize if you are subscribed to this thread and you see a reply, no I do not have the answer.

I came here to say that I have the same problem and hope that other people might have found a solution in the meantime and just didn't post.

I did find that the flicker happens even when adjusting the volume with the stock remote and the receiver itself so it is not a stray IR signal or something.

Hmmmmm. I am thinking now that I might try turning of HDMI control and see if that might do something. I will edit this post if I find something.

Nope that wasn't it. I actually had it off, I turned it on and Nope.

So then turned it back off and Nope.

On a plus note, I found the spot on how to change the name of the input from HDMI1 or HDMI2 stinks that you can't make it custom names though.

Okay I actually found the answer out on of all places, Yamaha's FAQ sight for the receiver.

http://faq.yamaha.com/us/en/article/index/id/7096/?search_query=RX%20V373&current_page_id=1

So for me I went in and disabled the 480i output from the direct tv DVR and all works great.

I hope you come back and find that link because I only lived with it for a day and it was killing me.
