I've had some help on another thread here trying to figure out what's wrong with my Panasonic AE-900U.
It runs for a while, then just randomly resets. It could take an hour for the first reset to occur, then it resets pretty frequently afterwards.
On the other thread, I've ruled out the automatic Iris, overheating, and the bulb as sources of the problem.
Earlier threads about the AE700U model indicate such problems can be power supply or ballast related.
So.... This question goes out to owners of any brand of projector.
Assuming a projector powers on...
1) What are the typical symptoms of a failing power supply?
2) What are the typical symptoms of a failing ballast?
Both parts together cost around $250 for my projector. I wouldn't hesitate to replace one component if I could figure out which one was to blame for the resets.
