Searching for the right antenna - Hutchinson, Ks w/ TVFool link - any Clearstream2v users here?

In my quest to cut the cord, I'm researching which antenna will be best for me. First, my tvfool info.

All the stations I want to receive are roughly 35-45 miles SE of my location. I contacted antennasdirect, and they recommend the clearstream2v (uhf+vhf) combo. Are there any better solutions? I don't want to get this thing installed only to find out something would have worked better.

There are no large buildings in the immediate direction of the stations I am wanting. Will be running 2 tv's, one of which will be sporting a dual-tuner DVR.

As far as price, I'd rather spend the money the first time and have it right than buy an antenna only to find it wont work. and then have to take that one down and replace it. Friends will be doing to install as I'm paraplegic and can't make it into the attic. If I were doing the install myself, I might be more prone to trial-and-error. One of the friends that will be installing it bought an $80 antenna from HomeDepot and he mentioned he has difficulty pulling in a couple of stations, even with an amp. He's also running 2 tv's. That would suck as one of the stations he has difficulty with is NBC.

I've never liked the idea of using an antenna amplifier. Coming from a car stereo background, I know you always wanted to feed an amp the best possible signal, and feeding it a poor signal would result in bad results. Maybe that's not the truth for antenna amps, but that's just how I envision it.

Doing some checking before I order the C2-V and found one of their authorized resellers sells, what I assume, is the same thing for $30 less. Can anybody confirm that it's the exact same setup as the one on the AD site, minus the 30 ft. of cable I don't need?

Even with shipping combined, it's only $100.94 which, by my math, is almost 23% cheaper than directly from AD. One of the drawbacks, aside from an unnecessary 30 ft. coax, is the return policy is a little more forgiving at AD. They allow up to 90 days to return where SS only allows 30 days. So, if I don't get it installed right away, I might not have an option to return it. Decisions, decisions....

Just thought I would post my results. Ended up ordering through Amazon for about $95 including s&h/tax. Included everything but 30 ft. of coax that I didn't need anyway.

Installed inside attic hanging upside down from one of the rafters as high as possible. I receive 14 stations at 75% signal strength or better (most 90%+) without an amp. All stations are within 40 miles from my location. Gotta say I was a little skeptical it would do that good, but am quite impressed.
