You can change between relative or date/time.

Yes, other than push notifications it should handle everything as good or better than an app.

Thanks. How do I change it? I don't see it in preferences.

how does search functions work with the new platform ? It finds the main threads but doesn't show the posts within the thread. Frustrating.

You can search a specific forum and specify posts only results.

Any previews of the editor?

How does it work on the iPad?

Can I make a suggestion?: Please make sure there is a link to the full site at the very bottom of EVERY HTML5 page. The link should redirect to the same relative page from the full site. There's nothing worse than using a "dumbed down" mobile version of a site and not having the ability to view the site in full HTML or ASP.

The idea, here, would be to click a link in an e-mail on a mobile device, go to the mobile version of avsforum (directly to the most recent post), and then go down to the bottom of the screen and click the "Full Site" link. Once clicked, it would go to the same post on the full site.

When I'm using a Galaxy Tab 10.1, there is enough screen real estate to browse full web sites and mobile sites are just too overbearing.

Really looking forward to the mobile version as I'm sure you guys already know wink.gif

Please give us access to a beta site when available, I've been using the standard site on my phone which is not the best experience -- but not much of a choice since even Tapatalk does not work anymore.

We're hoping that AVS members will be the first on the platform to have access to the new mobile version.

Push notification was one of the best features of the previous app. Losing that capability is a big negative. I hope the quality of this web version is so good it makes me forget about push cool.gif

That is where the email thread subscription notices will play a roll. For when you get a notice via email, when you click the link in the email, it will open in the mobile version of the site if you are viewing on a phone of tablet. If not on a tablet of phone, it will open in the full version of the site.

Hope this will help.

Well, I don't do the email notification now. Wasn't planning on doing it when the mobile version comes out - but I guess I'll give it try.
I do miss the mobile app so I'm looking forward to the upcoming release.

Good work! As a front-end web developer, I know the pains involved in such a massive redesign, especially with making it mobile friendly.

Looking forward to it.

For those who complain about Tapatalk, it is indeed horrible....with AVS. With the other 2+ dozen forums I use it for, it's awesome. Don't know what happened with the AVS implementation of it, but I could go through a huge laundry list of issues I have with AVS with it that I don't have with any of the other forums. I could not have been more disappointed with how it turned out, since I was super-excited when they announced that we'd be able to access it with Tapatalk after the redesign. Thankfully I'm not a person who purchased it solely for AVS or I'd be upset.

At least we'll have an HTML5 "app" for AVS...hopefully soon. My visits to the site have dropped off dramatically since the redesign due to the poor Tapatalk integration. Maybe the HTML5 version will reel me back in.

Today was mostly about gallery cleanup & sponsor stuff.

Although I don't remember if this was here before today...

Also look like the Black skin had the cell background colors swapped between the post test and the member info on the right of the post. Before, the white text on black was just way to contrasted. Now it is much more easy on the eyes with the dark gray cell color with white text like the old black skin was on the old site.

No problem with the full site on my S3.

The mobile client (any mobile client) can't come soon enough, I realized that the demise of the IOS App pretty much marked the end of me updating my threads and visiting the site as I find it too awkward to view the full site on my phone and I'm rarely around my laptop when I have the time to visit AVS. It's been so long since I've been here that I'd forgotten the App had disappeared and so was looking for it to upload some HTPC shots to my threads........
For me, any mobile client (App or Webapp) needs to include the ability to upload photos directly into a thread, otherwise I'll probably not get chance to post much in the future either.

Why not fix the Tap integration and get it working?
